Country Cafe — Restaurant in Spruce Pine

The wife and I were traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway on our motorcycle and spent the night in Little Switzerland. We were looking for a small family owned restaurant and found this place using Google Maps. The service was amazing and food was the best. My wife ordered the salad with chicken and I the open face roast beef sandwich with pinto beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the roast beef was so tender and tasty. The menu presented everywhere online is inaccurate, it reflects pricing pre Covid. According to the owner other folks have uploaded these "fake" menus with incorrect pricing. My order was for 2 scrambled eggs, country ham, grits and toast. They charged $12.59 for country ham and then an additional $2.59 for grits. That's $15.18 for one plate. The menu uploaded to this site says that grits are included but it was not. I ordered 2 of these plates, a BLT, A livermush, egg & cheese sandwhich, and a side of grits. Drove by from Blue Ridge Parkway , saw the restaurant's decent review so went in for a quick lunch. Total disappointment. Chicken and dumplings barely has any chicken in it so it's just a bowl of carbs. Foot long hot dog is burnt yet still got served. It's 1 regular hot dog plus half of a regular hot dog. If you do the math, better order the regular dog. No fountain drinks. The two star is for the unsweet tea. All in all, not worth what you...
