Awesome spot in a small town. We were here for a wedding and needed some coffee - didn’t expect to find food and a vibe. Bustling coffee shop with breakfast, lunch, and brunch. Eclectic mix of chairs and seating for singles and groups, indoor and out. Caramel latte was perfect. Brunch the first day was alright - biscuit was a little dry and the gravy was a little floury. I hate we got it to go because the ambience is half the experience here. Went back before we headed out of town on Sunday, and the SANDWICHES are incredible. Their bread is amazing - none of that too-crunchy mouth-cutting artisan sourdough here. EMT or English Muffin Toast is their creation - not fully on board with the English muffin comparison, but is indeed chewy and holy and delicious. Coffee great, food great, service great. Awesome spot that made our trip into Spruce Pine. We’re from a small town so I wish we had a spot like this! Make sure you drop by.

Enter a cabin-like atmosphere, the result of wood panels and rustic furniture. Folksie music reminds you that Spruce Pine is nestled within the Carolina mountains, where black bear, mountain lions, and white tail roam the forests. I had a nutty Cafe Americano and was well pleased; it's the best I've had in several months. A friend wanted me to try two oatmeal cookies: the dark chocolate and the cranberry orange. They were both delicious, though I found the subtly sweet dark chocolate oatmeal much more pleasing to my palate. I had a brief chat with the proprietor and found that, aside from having local pieces of art for sale, he tried to utilize local produce as often as possible, mostly from his own local garden and from local contacts. As I get ready to leave, the savory smell of the freshly baked quiche makes my mouth water. Definitely next time.

I really want to leave a super bad review. And I would have if it wasn’t for the incredible service. The staff are always greeting customers who come in and communicating. The service was both friendly, kind, and fast. The coffee is some of the best I’ve had. The menu has so many good choices. I’ve gotten stuck enjoying some and haven’t had the chance to try them all. The food both looks and tastes amazing. Everything being homemade is fantastic. I try to watch what I eat, and it all being from scratch, from the baked goods to even the coffee syrups, helps me continue to make good eating decisions. And the atmosphere! It is such an adorable and vibey little place. As much as I want to leave a bad review, I just can’t. This restaurant is too high standard. I will continue to enjoy this joint and come back often.

Came here this past Sunday, I think around noon time. I am not local, but was in the area overnight and googled the closest Cafe because I needed some quick energy for my drive home.

The view from the front door was absolutely breathtaking. The weather had been drizzly and the fog rising from the mountain made the stop worth it before I even went in the door. I'm from the swampy part of the state near the coast, so I'm not used to mountain scenery.

The store itself has a rustic but comfortable feel to it. They were also pretty packed. I ordered a large caramel latte and bagel with cream cheese to go. It was around $10. They have a menu with much more than that but I was in a hurry to hit the road.

The bagel was - and I'm not exaggerating - the best bagel I've had in years. I don't know if it was toasted with the power of love, but it was delicious. The cream cheese-to-bread ratio was perfect.

Not only that, but my latte was the best latte I've ever had. I didn't even know this was possible. It was so good it made me feel like I was cheating on my local coffee shop. My expectations weren't even high. I just wanted caffeine. But this place came through.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I spent my 4 hour drive home kicking myself for not ordering a second latte for the trip or another bagel. It's been two days and I can't stop thinking about it.

If you're in the area, this place is awesome. If I'm in the area again I would definitely go a little out of my...

First and last-time customer. My husband asked if they could make a “wonderful ” strawberry cake with strawberry icing for our Valentine’s trip to a nearby cabin. The baker stated she could. We picked it up on Valentine’s Day without a hitch. It was beautifully decorated. That evening we cut into it and were surprised at the appearance of the cake, it looked half-baked. We decided to try it anyway and found that it had the consistency of PlayDoh! It was super dense and stodgy. We could not eat it. (On a positive note:the icing was good) We tried to return the rest of the cake to the bakery the following day but they were closed for staff training. We returned the next day and returned it. My husband told the young man at the counter what the problem was and that we were returning it. His response was “I’m sorry about that”. He never offered a refund, full or partial, or a replacement…nothing. Worst cake I’ve ever tried to eat. So much for our special...
