I was directed here by a hotel owner that had no vacancy in nearby Burnsville NC. They had a room for me and I gladly took it on a Friday night. When I got there it was a bit of a maze finding it, and when I did the parking lot area was completely demolished ( part of their big vision). I had a minute trying to figure out where to park, as construction trucks were all over the place. But, it all worked out and once in the room I read up on the place and the vision. When completed the outside gathering space will be amazing, but for now, it is a big mess. The place is located in a 1921 built school house, and rooms are currently available on the second floor. The third floor is under renovation to add more rooms. The first floor has a grab and go coffee and snack seating area, and then a large gathering space with a library. Again, big plans for a restaurant and bar, and I wish them well with those goals. ||||I arrived too late and left to early to check out an amenity that they will do well to play up in the coming years, the footbridge (no cars) over the river to downtown Spruce Pine. This walk-ability into the redeveloping downtown area will be a big draw for many. I hope they pull it off and the big vision comes together. I would choose this spot over many other places simply for the walkable pedestrian bridge over the river.||||Rooms are each themed uniquely and quite nicely. I was very impressed with the vision and the progress to date. Keep it up, I found you by accident, but will be back on purpose another time, and will tell...
Read moreWe had a beautiful, clean, and spacious room. The bathroom was quite small, and the sink, while cute was also very small. We loved the atmosphere, the room, and the staff who were so friendly and helpful that we really wanted to love this place. But the parking is a bit of a turn off. There's construction going on, so we realize that when the construction is done the parking issues may be fixed somewhat but in the meantime some signage might help. It was hard to know where to park so we had to ask. The biggest issue we had, though, was the road leading to the hotel and the hill when we got to the entrance of the hotel. It was tough to navigate the road which is very narrow in parts, and the hill entering the hotel is quite steep! I was driving and I couldn't see what was over the hill as I pulled into the hotel entrance so I just prayed I wasn't going to hit anything as I crested it. We ended up parked in front of the Cosmetology building so we were level while unpacking, but others were parked sideways on the hill which could be difficult unpacking. Unless the parking situation changes, we'd be reluctant to stay again - and that's a shame because all in all, it's a nice, clean, beautifully furnished hotel with a...
Read moreI came to Spruce Pine NC on on family emergency illness. Due to the short time frame, I had not made previous hotel reservations, as I was familiar with the surrounding hotels in Burnsville and Spruce Pine and thought there would be plenty of availabilty there. Once reaching Spruce Pine, i contacted several hotels, but they were all booked up due to the Gem Festival. I contacted Richmond Inn and the owner recommended the Blue Ridge boutique hotel. I contacted the hotel, and the staff was so accommodating, gracious, and just kind as can be. I cant say enough good and positive things about the wonderful staff, super nice folks!!! They came to my rescue, as i was extremely tired and needed accomodations. I asked for a queen bed and i was given the Crabtree Falls Room, second floor. It was extremely clean, cozy...perfect. Small refrigerator, microwave. The breakfast area, hosted a a Keurig coffee maker, (splendid coffee), fruit, cereal bars, granola bars, swirls, plenty of yoghurt. and orange juice. Perfect breakfast for on the go. ||If you are staying in the Mitchell or Yancey county area, I highly recommend this hotel. The parking area is graveled, but the rooms are worth it. A big and sincere thank you to...
