Highlights: great boneless wings, house-cut fries and sweet tea. The shrimp is lightly breaded, lacking seasoning and not crispy. I feel that the shrimp poboy(6pc)$15 is overpriced for the quality and taste. I can spend less and get a much tastier shrimp poboy that comes with tomatoes and a hot side for a lower price elsewhere. ... It was our first time at Shuckers on a Friday night at 6:45pm. There are maybe 50 tables and probably 75% seated. Before we came we looked on their website for the menu. We walked in and were immediately seated by our server who served drinks right away. My partner's sweet tea ($2.99) was excellent, not too sweet. I always order water but the water here had a bad aftertaste. We ordered Appetizers: boneless wings $6.99(6pc)and fried cheese sticks $7.99. The cheese sticks were not hot and gooey where the hot cheese stretches after you take a bite(Try the best ones at Redline Diner). The boneless wings were great, perfectly crispy. I tried the shuck'n hot wing flavor which was mild to medium spicy and sweet, no vinegar taste. The ranch dip is house made but not as good as most house-made ranch. My entree was a shrimp poboy($14.99). There were 6 medium shrimp that were lightly breaded and not crispy, and not seasoned enough. It was topped with shredded lettuce and sweet tartar sauce(not remoulade as stated in the menu). It would have been better with tomatoes. It came with kettle potato chips(or sub fries for $2 more). My partner ordered the shrimp dinner $17.99(9pc medium) with side salad(shredded lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion), 2 hushpuppies and house-cut fries that are not crispy but delicious. These shrimp were the same that were on my poboy and my partner agreed that they were disappointing. I feel that the shrimp poboy is way overpriced for the quality and taste of the food. I can spend less and get a much tastier shrimp poboy that comes with tomatoes and a hot side for a lower price(Try Tricky Fish). We had a great server. We plan to come back to try the stuffed shells, fried zucchini and chili cheese fries, and the brunch menu on Saturday. We didn't have dessert but in addition to the desserts listed they also have regular and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe was visiting for the crawl-o-ween event, we had been in the resturant most the night over $200 spent. But a intoxicated woman in a skeleton outfit claiming she was the owner/owners wife was at the door denying entry to one group of people. Even drug some other lady out who was trying to walk in. At first she said it was a capacity issue but when the cop showed up she said it was because they said something she didn't like. My entire party of 10 people left the resturant at this point due to her harrasing people at the door. She shouldnt have been there intoxicated to begin with. Much less employee nor owner who every she was should not be working intoxicated much less put there hands on a costumer.
To your reply first it wasn't my group you did it to we were inside the bar when it happend already. The orange crawl-o-ween cup in your hand that allows you to drink (Alcohol) on the street proves you were drinking. The two guys had been managing the door all night till 11 when the crawl-o-ween event ended and you showed up at your bar. Hadn't been there all night till then. There was definitely not 2000 people at your bar not even 200 people š. There was way more people in the bar while the event was happening then after the event. the bar was do full during the event that the line of people was out the door but no one was denied entree till after the even had ended and there was no line of people waiting just one group that wasn't allowed in. Also you establishment has 2 entrances people were also entering and leaving out the other side where there was no one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place wouldāve been wonderful had we known there was an hour and half wait on food. We were sat as soon as we walked in at 5:45 Waited about 5 mins on a waitress to ask us what we want to drink. Got our drinks 5 mins later. Ordered hush puppies for appetizer, got it 30 mins later. Then the wait for food. We ordered around 6:15. And by 718 we were told its next. It wasnāt. By 725 I said Iām done Iām leaving. They offered to box it, but no thanks. Iām not paying 80$ for everything just to eat it cold later. Iāve never been St. Albans. So I searched before our comedy show places to eat. We could chose anything in trays valley to Charleston. But we chose to stay in the local area. Had we known there was such a long waitā¦we couldāve went elsewhere. But being seated as soon as you walked in, you typically get waited on fairly quick. We never got our side salads at all. I hate that it was so disappointing. The waitress got an attitude with me bc I refused to box up the food that was supposedly ready. ( I never seen the food even at that point) once again. Not giving my hard worked out money for cold food I have to eat 4 hours later at my home. Plan better folks, I suggest you eat there if you give yourself 2.5 hours of time. I assumed 5:45 would be plenty time for a 7:30 show across the...
