We come to this restaurant often, a lot of times we order to-go after a work day but on occasion we eat inside. This is where me and a few friends typically meet to eat When were craving Mexican food , because it’s usually great . The service today however was horrible. We arrived here at 7:20 went inside only waited a few minutes for a table. Perfectly fine none of us were in a hurry. We were then seated and shortly greeted by the waiter who was very sweet, he went to take our drink orders we all gave him our drinks and he goes to the back. We waited about 20 minutes before he comes back out and says there were some issues with the drinks and they would be out shortly. Gives us all a water ( 2 of the 4 of us had ordered water ) and we waited another few minutes then our drinks came. The waiter then takes our food order realized he didn’t have a pen .. or straws for our drinks , goes and finds pens comes back takes the order. We waited another 30 minutes for food which is fine we were all just having a good time, but we had ordered 2 Queso to go with the chips that were brought out and almost an hour in never had . I reminded the waiter 2 or 3 times that we hadn’t received it when he would come by to ask how we were doing, he’d just say thanks for reminding me. After we finished eating the girl working the front ( super friendly ) took some dishes off the table. We were all still talking it’s about 8:45 ish the same lady that had brought out the chips goes to take off the empty glasses on the table, then grabs the water that was 1/2 full while the the friend was in the bathroom i said hey i don’t think she’s done with that the lady looked at me like she was Agitated and continued to grab glasses and i repeated hey i don’t think she’s done with that the waitress slams the glass onto the table and goes to grab the tip that I’ve sat on the table and then stops and walks off. By this time I’m over this entire trip, we talked for a a few more minutes and left . I’ve worked in restaurants. I know busy and how annoying it can be but i rarely get annoyed with staff. This entire experience was horrible. From the poorly trained waiter to the rude woman who slams a 1/2 full drink on the table. We will not be...
Read moreSo this was my second time going. Thought I would give it another try. I am regionally from San Antonio Texas and when I go to the Mexican restaurants there you can taste the exquisite cuisine they love to season their food. So I asked a question about their fajitas if they were made with skirt steak, the young man could not answer me. I thought he was going to faint when I asked him that question. Finally he went to the kitchen came back and said that they did not know I think it's pretty sad that you have cooks and they're cooking your food and they don't know what kind of meat there.. so I ordered this stuff called carne asada and it said that it was made with skirt steak hey we're on the right track we have skirt steak but it's not fajitas. I told him I wanted it medium rare he acknowledged me. The food arrived at my table I took a bite of this meat. It definitely was not medium-rare and the cooks did not even know how to cut it because it was tough. I told the server that I could not eat this that I would like to trade it for some chicken like they use on the. Fajitas He comes with the sizzling chicken along with rice and beans I went to take a bite of this chicken no seasoning and it was Bland.. what I had gotten buy chips and salsa at the beginning the salsa was too hot so I said do you have any kind of cheese dip or anything he says yes he brings it to me and does not tell me that there's a $5 charge just lets me think that it's included. I'll get straight to the if you're going to cook Mexican food you need to use the Mexican season seasonings and spices and don't cook your food till it's dried out and I left the food there I did not bring it home and instead of taking the cheese sauce off the bill he should have took the two meals off the bill and just charged me for my drink and that. So I do not recommend this if you want really good Mexican food because they do not know how to use the good Mexican just like cumin it goes on there was no cumin on the carne asada. Only thing I can tell you is people who have not eaten real authentic Mexican food and are not used to all the seasonings that restaurants perfect. I definitely will not recommend it if...
Read moreExpensive prices and gamey tasting beef.
This restaurant charges a convenience fee. This fee might as well be a percentage of the electricity bill or property fees because that's what bank card fees are: the cost of running a business. Cards are convenient for restaurants as well as customers. Cards enable customers to spend more than a finite amount of cash they withdrawal from the atm. This is a BIG plus for the restaurant especially a bar & restaurant like Cozumel where alcohol prices and expensive entrees can really stack up. Why make us foot your entire 3% card fee? Why not half and half at the most(1.5%) because you the restaurant benefit greatly from us having our banks in our pockets so we can go any time without going to the bank first and we don't have a specific amount of cash to use. We have the ability to say we want to splurge spontaneously and spend more than usual and this restaurant thanks their customer by charging them a fee. Thanks but no thanks. I'll go somewhere else where they take responsibility for their own costs of running a business.
The food was disappointing today. The ground beef tasted gamey and it wasn't seasoned enough. There were no veggies in my chimichanga and usually there is a lot but it has been a long time since we came. Kids meals do not include drinks. The prices are overpriced. Sides of jalapenos are $3 so I didn't order any to go with my large queso dip, next time i won't get the dip because i don't enjoy it as much without the 10 k gold jalapenos with it. The server did not understand simple questions(like are drinks included with kids meals) probably a language barrier but otherwise he was very attentive and happy and a pleasure...
