New China Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in St. Clair

I am so upset I had to WRITE This review. Being a retired Sous Chef food is my life. We have been eating here for 12 years weekly Jen used to run this little place and the food quality was excellent. For the past 2 years we noticed odd about their floured chicken nuggets that are put into.sesame chicken..orange chicken..and general tso chicken..honey chicken..THERE IS NO CHICKEN in them it's just balls of FLOUR!!!!!! Every week we eat there getting takeout we buy in FAITH that the last time was just a small minor overlook on cooking the chicken but NO!!!! They are serving little to none chicken in their entrees and dinners!! As loyal and faithful customers that pay them 40.00 a week for food that is below standard now we will no longer come back to our beloved China cuisine as they are now becoming skimpy and deceitful in serving food. It's Sad to say this but any of you buying chicken nuggets in your dinners cooked please take notice now THERE IS ONLY HARD FLOUR CLUMPS being served and this is not a one time incident it's Everytime .. the springfield cashew chicken is a slushy soft floored lump.of AIR!!!!!!!!!!! my husband orders it every week as takeout and finally decided he had enough of this after 12 years of dedicated weekly purchasing. Listen. The food here is good, authentic. Easily one of the top Chinese food places I've eaten at. In my experience whether it be Chinese, Mexican, or some hole in the wall American burger place, if its ran by the family and the person taking your order is no nonsense and straight to the point, chances are the food is going to be great. No exception here. Love this place. Everytime I call its always "15-20 minutes" and by God they've never been wrong. We always do takeout because the dining area is quite small. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant that has a romantic ambiance and servers that make you feel special, keep looking. Most of us are here for the food. I'm fairly certain they have not renovated since the 90s because it's been the exact same ever since I've been going there, not including the extra plexiglass installed during covid. But you know what? That's the mark of an owner that truly cares about their workers, their customers, and their food. We were really craving chinese food. Read reviews and man oh man what the heck. The reviews gave it over 4 stars. No way!!! The food was gross. Prepackaged heavily breaded chicken scrap, deep fried to a nice hard crunch. Slathered with sauce and really poor looking brocoli. Very unappetizing!!! The woman who we placed our order with, had a attitude basically reflecting she could care less we were there. The business itself was in really bad repair. Peeling paint, dirty door windows and bathroom. Wallpaper falling down, tiles peeling on floor and ceiling ready to fall in, heavy plastic hanging as a barricade between owners and customers!
