Anytime Fitness — Local services in St. Clair

Way overpriced for the amount of space, no action taken towards loud and obnoxious members, multiple methods for milking you for as much money as possible. For example when I signed up, they said guests could be brought in at anytime, just write their name in the guest book. I thought that was great and signed up, later learned that you have to call the office in advance to get a guest approved for entry, pay a fee, and then write their name down. Failure to do so results in a $300 fine. Learning this, coupled with the repeated encounters with screaming, weight slamming members and trouble performing certain excercisea due to limited amount of machines and space, I decided to terminate my membership, I was then told I'd have to pay nearly $100 to do so, despite this never being mentioned when I signed up. Do yourself a favor and got to planet fitness or something, you're bound to save more money paying for the gas to drive there then ever going near this place, plus you'll actually have some...

I travel for work so I have an active & fit direct member ship which gives me access to 1000’s of gyms including anytime. I walked 25 mins because I’m traveling for work and the company didn’t get me a rental… so I show up to this anytime to get a workout before work started for me, and the owners kid stops me at the door. I show him my ACTIVE ANY TIME FITNESS MEMBERSHIP AND FITNESS ID… and he continuously told me “the manager runs a pretty tight ship” and wouldn’t just let me get my work out in after walking 25 minutes and having an ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP because I didn’t have a key scanner BECAUSE I NEED ONE MADE FOR ME BUT NO ONE IS THERE NOT EVEN THE OWNERS SON TO MAKE ME ONE OR CHECK ME IN! I also saw they charge over 18$ bi weekly and I’ve seen garage gyms with more equipment and space! Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Horrible...

Absolutely love this gym. The culture, the people, the environment; it's truly a fantastic gym to work out in, be encouraged by people and encourage others at the same time.
