Truly sad about our experience here. Was so excited about going. 1st while waiting asked who I thought might be the host (because it was crowded and as their hosts were dressed in very casual clothing with no identifier to indicate they worked there)for a menu she looked at me said sure then looked at a pile of menus behind her. After realizing she was queuing for me to go around a grab it,I did. 2nd we sit at our table and an ant crawls across. I killed it didn't make a big deal. It's mother's day and crowded. 3rd We were a table of 3 with a baby. No offer for a high chair or sling for my baby's car seat. So I put her in the booth. Now for why 1 star. We ordered over $100 in food 4 entrées 3 were mediocre one was just gross. Chicken and waffles, lemon lavender pancakes, a steak skillet, biscuits and gravy, then a watermelon mojito, and a biscuit latte. The latte was tiny and not even sure how it could be a latte because of how small it was. So the milk to espresso ratio couldn't even be right unless they did a half shot. The gravy was straight white, clearly made with shortening with a few flecks of red sausage. It was bland and flavorless. My mother was super disappointed. We let the server know. To which, she said, I'll be back, he disappeared for another five minutes, then came back and said, well, we can make you something else. We had already been there for twenty minutes with our food. At this point, we're ready to pack up and leave. So of course, we don't want something else. She asks how the rest of our food is, and we're completely honest letting her know that some of it was good, but a lot of it was just not great. she says, oh okay, that's weird. And just leaves the check does not offer to remove the biscuits and gravy that were clearly nasty. She even said they looked bad. To be fair, though, the biscuit was good. Upon checking out the hostess asked. How everything was we let her know that my mom wasn't happy. She said, oh, i'm sorry and then took my card. I feel like I gave the opportunity to correct the situation and no effort was made on the it's part of the establishment. So unfortunately for me,...
Read moreTerrible, worst experience ever, me and my wife frequent this place about once a month, well this last time my wife ordered the caramel covered pancakes that they serve, before ordering we asked the server if they use a pancake mix or do they make their own batter because my wife has adverse reaction to the ingredients in the pancake mixes from a box she asked the owner/manager and he told us that they make everything from scratch so proceeded to order them once the food came my wife took one bite of the pancakes and pretty much immediately she had a negative reaction to the food when we told the server about it and told her tat we didn't like like the item and wanted to order something else she brought the owner over and he told us that we would have to pay for both items if we wanted to order something else, after we disagreed with his decision he called the police which in turn the responding officer said that we would have to pay for the pancakes or we will be arrested for theft of services even though we didn't eat them and that the owner wants us to pay the bill and leave the restaurant or we will be arrested for trespassing also. I do not think is legal, but I'll have to spend some money for legal advice to find the answer to that question. I'm in the foodservice business also and if a customer that comes to my restaurant does not like his food i try to get them something else to please and satisfy them not try to rip them off like he did, he has no clue about customer service and his pancakes are out of a box. obviously i will never return (I'll be arrested if i do) but stay away from this place much better...
Read moreI was visiting my old stomping grounds for the weekend and one of my besties suggested this place for a lil Sunday brunch moment. We’re from a town in the middle of nowhere in Illinois, so we had to cross the border to check this place out. Two words = worth it.
It was about a twenty minute wait, but I feel like it was a little shorter than that. Maybe the time flew by quicker since I was with my favorite people in the world. Anyway, we sat and the place is super cute, y’all! The place is bright and open with a lot of places to sit. The place was packed though. That’s a good thing though because they deserve all the business they get.
Their menu is so vast, but in a good way. They truly have something for everyone. Many many options for both sweet and savory breakfasts. If I see oats on the menu, trust I’ll be getting them. So it got the old fashioned oats and a side of scrambled eggs. The side of eggs filled an entire plate! A plate of eggs for $3-$4? STEAL! I live in Arizona so the prices on this menu were to die for. I was able to get so much food for like $12.
The oats were super creamy, and the fruit was ripe and sweet. The eggs were flavorful and fluffy. 10/10 meal for me. And my friends agreed. I’ll attach pictures so you can see what everyone else ordered. But everyone LOVED their meals. We got a variety of sweet and savory dishes. I got rounds of, “this is delicious,” “I loved this,” and “this is so good!” When we were finished.
The food came out quick, the service was attentive and friendly, and we had...
