Jade Garden — Restaurant in St. Johns

Average priced oriental food presented in a buffet manor. The staff aren't particularly friendly nor rude, they just kind of exist. There are two hot tables, one salad bar, and a buffet table oddly dedicated to almond cookies, fortune cookies, napkins, and sauce packets.

The food itself is extremely middle of the road. No one dish really stands out in flavor, everything tastes similar with slight variance. In an odd way this is nice since you know exactly what you're getting every time you visit. The peanut butter chicken here tends to be far too soupy to be enjoyable though. There is a major lack of seafood here: no sushi, no oysters, no frog legs, no crab legs, no mussels, etc.

If you're in the neighborhood and having a craving for oriental food, this place should satisfy that craving. If you don't mind driving though, there are far better places with more choices and...

Bad experience that left me almost throwing up. I was a long-time customer of theirs for about 8 years and the other day I had an experience there that really made me sick. I ordered the panko breaded shrimp and sea food balls and both of them were disgusting. The shrimp when I cut in half I discovered had never been de-veined or cleaned and they had black fecal matter in them that was never cleaned out. The seafood balls smelled like day old fish that had been sitting in the sun for too long and just smelling them made your stomach curl. The staff is always polite and friendly but on this day the food made my stomach curl. Especially when I think back to all the meals I had there and I have to wonder just how much uncleaned food I have eaten over the years. Will I be back? No. They have lost this long...

This restaurant is a gem! The staff were phenomenal and the food was packed with flavor!! I've never had such a flavorful lo mein noodle until I came here! Even the egg roll was delicious! Whoever cooked the food deserves a raise! The whole establishment was clean. This is one of the few buffet places where I did NOT avoid a food item (my waistline is hating me rn for that)! The only thing I can say would be a negative is that the bathroom may need an update, but it was still clean and well taken care of! You need to try this place at least once! I enjoyed the aesthetics, I enjoyed (and over indulged) the food, and I loved the people working here! Now excuse me while I lay on my couch and daydream about the lo main dish while looking for a tailor to extend the waistline of by slacks!...
