Great Deli, in a great neighborhood. Sandwich Club STL visited Bubba's Deli on Saturday around 1 pm. We had a party of about 10 people. The place is super clean and bright with what looks like local artwork adorning the walls. The staff didn't mind that we kind of took over the middle of the place. In fact they were more than helpful and super polite and friendly.Everyone ordered something different from the menu of about 15 sandwiches (including the sliders). Man where do we start ? We ordered the Brisket, Smoked brisket, hand cut and served on a toasted garlic brioche bun. You can tell we are dealing with a true pit master as the brisket was smokey but not overwhelming, tender and not dry at all.(avoiding the M word) as we know that makes some people uncomfortable. It came with a nice St Louis style BBQ sauce on the side. Loved it ! We got the Meat Ball, German style meatball in a homemade BBQ sauce with provolone, served on toasted french bread. Our Meatball sandwich expert said it was a little different that what we are used to getting in the Hill.He described it more like a meat loaf ball.I think overall he liked it, it was just different. We got the. CHICKEN CLUB, Pulled rotisserie chicken, topped with bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomato and tangy mustard mayo. Served on a toasted garlic brioche bun. Two thumbs up ! The CUBAN Smoked pork, smoked ham, and pickles with swiss cheese and cuban mustard. Served on grilled cuban bread. I believe it was loved as well.It looked amazing. We got the. TURKEY MELT, Smoked turkey with provolone and tangy mustard mayo, served on grilled rye bread.
& The REUBEN, Corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing served n grilled rye bread. Both were enjoyed very much. We got some other sandwiches including the special.(see Pic's) and some sliders. Our conclusion is, it's great and we highly recommend checking this place out. Cant wait to come back in the warmer months so we can meet Bubba himself, an 11 year old English bulldog that loves belly rubs. Thanks Bubba's we had a blast and we also appreciated the bio degradable containers our sandwiches came in. Cheers,...
Read more2024 November: Stopped in for a meatball sandwich, unfortunately they aren't offering them anymore boo hoo. So I had to find a new sandwich which wasn't hard. I settled on The Pujols, it had all the meat I enjoy and more. Was watching & waiting and spyed him bringing chili out. Well I had been craving chili lately, so I asked if we could add that on my order. So reasonably price I didn't even break 20.00 for my order. It's a locally-owned deli in our neighborhood so I love supporting them. Mind you I'll miss their tasty meatball sandwich, now I'll have to find a new place for that type of sandwich. That's ok, as I know their food is always tasty and a nice little place to sit down & have lunch with a friend. It's that cozy people.
Local Deli with the best meatball and brisket sandwich around, try their sliders too for a variety. These guys take pride in their food, and its more than a heaping pile of meat. Flavors are really good, and bread is soft, so you don't have to fight to bite or chew like most places. Love supporting local businesses over chains or bigger businesses. Tried the Turkey Melt with Provolone and a Tangy Mustard sauce. Great roll perfect softness to compliment the carved roasted turkey with the bacon and Provolone cheese. The mustard is perfect for this sandwich. They serve Chili, too. Unfortunately, it wasn't in my take-home order,...
Read moreMy dad and my two brothers and I tried to go to Bubba’s a month or so ago after golf and it was closed sadly. However, today we got carry out and it did not disappoint. My brother had the Bubba’s special. My parents split the brisket special, and I had the Italian Beef.
I’ve lived in Chicago for a time and usually would get my Italian beef, dipped, which wasn’t an option (at least online), but the ratio of beef to Giardiniera was perfect and au jus on the side was perfect for dipping. The bread soaked up the au jus well without it becoming overly soggy. I really want to do a side by side comparison of Bubbas and their neighbor Vinnies Italian beef one day.
My brother and parents both enjoyed their sandwiches. My mom thought that the au jus on the side with the brisket was a cool idea and agreed with me on the bread soaking up the sauce well. My brother said that the sauce on the Bubbas special was interesting (in a good way) because he was expecting something similar to Amighetti’s sauce, but said that it did not disappoint.
