Honestly weirdest food experience I’ve had in years. Employees act like they’ve been sedated. Are you guys okay? Blink twice if you’re being held captive. Super strange poem framed on the wall. Scary vibes. Anyways I got a vegetarian make your own sandwich. Spinach, mozzarella, tomatoes, peppers, banana peppers, cucumbers, mayo and vinegar. I normally get this at Subway and it’s pretty good. It took literally 10 minutes for the person to make it and I was the only person there. Sloth mode. I finally got it, unwrapped it, and boy the disappointment was immediate. I should have taken a pic I’m kicking myself for that. I swear it had 3 spinach leaves. The mozz was unsalted and completely tasteless. They put so little ingredients on it it was like I was just eating bread. The bread was actually good but I wanted a sandwich and that is not what I got. If you eat meat maybe the sandwiches are fantastic but do not come here if you’re a vegetarian. Also it was $8 for HALF. Subway is $5.50 and significantly better and that’s saying something because,...
Read moreI work in the area & was looking forward to trying Elaine's. I don't know if dude was having a bad morning or what exactly was going on but the vibe was nothing of what I expected. He spent several minutes fooling with the door, it would not unlock, while I just stood there waiting to order a sandwich. I did not realize it could be hot or cold, I wanted it cold, he didn't ask, just but it through the toaster. I had ordered lettuce not noticing they dont have it listed as an option. I dont know what he intended to put on it since they didn't have what I ordered. So, I tell him, , , I didn't realize you were going to toast it & u dont have lettuce, , just wrap it, I will fix it at home. Absolutely not worth $12. Very disappointed, I was looking forward to a new lunch spot,...
Read moreWe ordered the Cuban and the Joey Boy. The bread on the Cuban was fresh, soft and toasted to perfection. This was a very tasty sandwich with the right balance of ham, roasted pork, cheese, vegetables and mustard. However, I would like to have seen a bit more generous portions with the meat, but overall, it wasn’t bad. On the other hand, the bread for the Joey boy was thick, dry and extremely crumbly. The meat portions also could have been much better for the high bread ratio. Based on my experience with other delis, I found Elaine’s to be very average and will not likely return, as there are a lot of other places that are better around the...
