Had lunch today at Have A Cow Cattle Co. Cafe and Urban Farm Store, and I have to say—it was an unexpected and delightful surprise.
From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was something special. I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, the owner, who took a few moments to share the story behind the café and their mission. They raise their own cattle, and every bit of beef served is sourced directly from their farm. It doesn’t get more farm-to-table than that.
With that kind of dedication to quality and transparency, I had high expectations—and they absolutely delivered.
I ordered the “Have A Cow Burger,” and it was fantastic. You can literally taste the difference—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were top-notch, and the beef was clearly a cut above anything you’d find at a typical burger joint.
The café also features a charming gift shop with local products and a selection of goods that reflect their farm-centered values. There’s outdoor seating available as well, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your meal in a laid-back, authentic setting.
If you’re in the area and appreciate high-quality, responsibly sourced food, this place is well worth a visit. Friendly service, honest food, and a great atmosphere—you’ll be favorably impressed. 4.9999999999 Stars. Rounded up to 5. Because...
Read moreYou will literally have a cow when you experience this restaurant. First, the restaurant is so quaint and inviting. I love the decor and how it's set-up. Next is the service. The young lady and gentleman at the counter were 1) friendly 2) knowledgeable 3) patient and 4) quick. You can't beat those attributes for employees. Next, the food. OH MY!!!! I had pancakes, bacon and potatoes. Let me tell you....I'm salivating right now....the pancakes are huge, fluffy, flavorful and moist....the potatoes were perfectly crisp and not laden with onions or peppers (I hate onions so "Thank you!!!!)....the bacon was crisp but not burnt and not fatty. My hubby had...don't judge him...the biscuit with egg, sausage and cheese, blueberry pancakes, bacon and a cinnamon roll. HE FINISHED IT ALL. Not out of obligation but out of "Damn this is so good I could lick the plate " sentiment. 😆
Almost forgot...I drank tea and he had OJ. Both were good.
Next was the service. The owner came by to check on us, clear our plates and talk. She is sooooooo sweet!!!!! We loved talking with her and learning more about the restaurant and their farm. Our convo with her sealed the deal. Have a Cow is now my breakfast spot. It's my first choice because the food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. Most importantly, I felt...
Read moreI’m celiac, and can’t stand cross contamination. I ordered a gf waffle with eggs and bacon. I tried to order potatoes, but was told they aren’t gf. I should have known better than to trust the cashiers ability to handle a gf order. As I was lathering it with butter, a different server came up and was like heyy are you celiac, because our waffle iron isn’t dedicated. She offered to make me a gf pancake in a clean pan and to get me new bacon. My silverware was take as well, but never replaced. I had to get it myself. The gf pancakes proceeded to taste like thick corn tortillas. It’s clear this restaurant has gf options to follow a fad. It’s disappointing. They also didn’t fail to point out that customers with celiac are expected to advocate for themselves and I agree, but pointing it out after I’ve received my food seems insensitive. I got excited and lost site. If I had learned they couldn’t make a truly gf waffle I would have left.
If you have celiac or a gluten allergy you understand the excitement of finding a place with gf options on the menu… I won’t be back. The shop is cute. The eggs and bacon delicious, but that’s not enough to...
