Fit City Gym — Local services in St. Louis

I’ve been going here for years and in terms of ranges of equipment, this gym has EVERYTHING. There is no type of exercise I couldn’t do here. However, the lack of cleanliness and outdated equipment is becoming too much for me to stomach. Everytime I get on a treadmill machine and look down at the dust and stains it’s disgusting. I’m afraid this gym has cut out many of the little things that matter for customers. Such as there is no hand sanitizer to be found anywhere although there are dispensers it’s always empty - very unsanitary in a gym, cleaning off machines is impossible because there are never any paper towels or cloths available to use for cleaning - you will not see people wiping down equipment here and well that’s nasty too, many of the treadmills have been rotated to face a blank wall - no thank you, and the one treadmill that does face a tv is outdated and filthy, there are screens on the machines customers should be able to use to watch tv and they do not work and are never on- cardio equipment is not only dirty, it’s mostly outdated; several of the Stairmaster machines literally have rust all over them; the separate cardio room has three big screen tv’s in it which are never on for people to actually watch, the same soap dispenser has been inoperable for many years in the women’s restroom; the cover on the hip thrust machine has been torn and literally slides off for at least four months now - when things break they stay that way for AWHILE. While there is a sauna, it doesn’t get hot enough - only goes up to 150 and takes a long time to do so because it doesn’t run all day. All of these small things add up and take away from the experience especially when you are paying $42/month and can get many more amenities at other facilities for about the same price. I would love to continue going here given the close proximity to my house but they need to return to operating like a gym that just opened and not like a gym that’s barely surviving because that’s the...

Fit City is a Great gym! From the minute you walk in the door, you're greeted with a warm and friendly smile. The front desk staff, the Managers, Brendan and Kyle are all so great! They always make themselves available for any assistance! They really value you as members This gym has plenty of room and great equipment! There are plenty of dumbbells and machines, and some pieces of equipment seem to be unique just for Fit City. There are some leg machines I've not seen at any other gyms. I'm short, so it's not always easy to reach some of the attachments for the cable machines. However, there are steps attached to these cable machines which allows me to adjust the weights. Plus there are some other upper body machines which I can adjust to a light enough weight which is easy for me to use. The members at this gym are great and always willing to help if needed with some machine. Good music playing and not too loud where it will not drown out your music on your earphones! The ladies locker room is spacious..which is so nice. I was very happy that Fit City has offered Silver Sneaker memberships! This is an excellent perk and savings for seniors!!! REQUEST TO MANAGEMENT! Please read!

Gym is great no doubt! But enforcing just notices for customers to wear mask is NOT ENOUGH! You should take some actions as well when we report you that some group of individuals working out together (also laughing and talking) without wearing mask.

EVERY TIME I go to the front desk, the only answer I get is that they have ‘medical thing’ (without them even looking at the people not wearing masks) and the front desk goes back to his/her phone. Front desk just lies to avoid intervening. A group of people lifting the heaviest weights (all of them can not have medical conditions). Also if they have medical conditions they would not be able to lift with their weak lungs in the first place. Visit CDC and you will know there’s no thing called ‘medical thing’ or any sort of reason to NOT wear a mask.

I highly request MANAGEMENT to do something about this and ask front desk people to take actions and just not sit on phones when we bring something like this to their attention.
