Do you like Falafel? Come here and you will love it! Majeed might have the best falafel in St. Louis. That was definitely the highlight of my visit where I tried their Kibbeh, Hummus, Beef Shawarma, and Falafel. I had never had Kibbeh before, so I can't compare to other places, but it was good. Like a hush puppy with some ground meat in it. They sprinkle a bit of paprika and cumin over it which adds an extra bit of flavor to otherwise standard hummus. The Beef in the Shawarma was unique in that it seemed like it was shredded like pulled pork. If you like beef and spices, you will probably enjoy this, however it was a bit dry for me. A side of TzaTziki or some extra sauce inside would of made it better. Lastly, speaking of shawarma, I tried a bite of my wife's Chicken Shawarma and that was dynamite! If I were to return, I'd definitely be getting a chicken shawarma sandwich or platter and I would recommend it to you as well!

Delicious food and great prices! Update as of 4/3/22: the restaurant has moved across the street, while the international store has stayed in the old restaurant location. I visited on a Sunday morning, around 11:30 am. There was a sign on the door saying they opened at 11 on Sundays, but one set of doors was open and the other locked. When I went in, there were no employees around, despite the lights being on and the sound of employees visiting in the back. The smoke alarm was also chirping loudly, indicating it needed its battery changed. One employee did appear but seemed rather annoyed that a customer had walked in, so I chose to leave. I've had great experiences at Majeed in the past, and I certainly hope to enjoy their food and service in the future. Maybe there was something going on Sunday that led to the employees being present but the shop not being technically open. That's all I can speculate.

I'm wondering how this place got 4.6 stars🤔. What initially brought us to this place was a coupon on Verizon for 25% off that my husband found. Since we moved here we've been trying to find a decent Mediterranean spot to eat. We are Coming from Detroit area where Mediterranean was common food. So most of these kinds of restaurants are decent to excellent in Detroit. So we decided to give it a try. It took 30 mins to get to this place from where we stay. Once in the place we were seated but it took 5 min just for the 1 waitress/cashier to take our order. We order the vegetarian appetizer which took 10 min for that to come out that's also when she bought out water. We didn't get the garlic sauce I asked for with vegetarian so had to ask her again. (Which is going to be a common trend in this visit). We got the garlic sauce finally. Now this platter was good the tabbouleh could have been better, the falafel being the star of this plate. So we decided to order more, shish tuwuk and shish kabob. Which took 30 mins to get and we didn't even get refill on water plus they gave me rice in stead of fries and my husband tabbouleh instead of fattoush which we told the waitress twice before it even came out. The vegetables was not grilled chard like most Mediterranean restaurants serve and my husband meat on his plate tasted gamey like it was old or something along that line. Plus the rice which you get a lot of favor was highly undesirable. So we had to wait for our fries and fattoush salad (add another 10 mins) and by this time we were just getting tried of waiting I had to even tell the waitress just bring a pitcher of water for us🤦🏼‍♀️. We ask if we could have my husband shish kabob plate remove off the bill and forget the fattoush, but the waitress kept going back and forth to the back when there was anything needed to be changed as far as our bill or meal. When she came back from the back ( she was talking to the manager I suppose) he didn't seem to want to take it off the bill. So we ask to speak with him directly but he didn't come out either instead he just decided to take it off ( which comes off as your customer is not that important to you, which we have work in this field and respect customer time and always try to help when we could. It a lost art these days). Then when we go to pay for the food they didn't even honor the coupon(which is why we came in the first place and that just bad business practice the coupon is not expired). Overall I give it a 1 star for two reasons the first platter we had was decent and Google don't allow 0 star. The customer service, some of the food, and overall ambiance of the restaurant was just flat out lacking. FYI when we got there It was one one customer in the restaurant sitting eating and a total of 6 that came in and out to pick up food during our visit.... So it wasn't like they where slammed or crazy busy. So If you come here this is what you can expect but I suggest don't waste your time or...

This would be a 2 star review but I'm giving it 3 stars because of the service that I received here. I was really looking forward to trying this place because of all of the fantastic reviews, and it has, unfortunately fell quite short. I was going to have a fattoush salad and a mixed grill but decided to have the fattoush on the plate...but it tasted bad. That really is the only way to describe it--it was just plain old bad. It was old tasting and soggy and just disgusting. I was pretty upset that half of my plate was not going to be eaten. I was going to just leave it but I told my server that I wanted to replace the side because not only could I not eat that salad, but I could not eat the one that came with the kibbe because it was also bad. She said that she could replace it with hummus with chicken (or beef) on it, which was a lot better. I wanted to make sure I wasn't being charged for that, because although I don't think I should be- you never know about these places and they didn't charge me so that's good. The kibbe was good, as was the chicken, but the meat and rice were not that great. The rice had an odd taste to it and we didn't eat it, so that was a loss. The tea pots and tea was the only thing I actually liked. The bathrooms were so bad that my child and husband both wouldn't use it. This place could be so great, but they need good management. I am planning on going through St. Louis again--definitely not planning on...

It's disappointing to see such an unprofessional response from a restaurant owner instead of addressing the actual concerns.

First, the claim that we made other customers uncomfortable is completely false. The restaurant was mostly empty except for two tables, so how exactly did we not respect personal space?

Second, regarding the reservation—if we had initially reserved for 20 and allegedly brought 30 more guests, are you implying that 50 people could somehow fit into two tables? Your response contradicts itself and highlights the lack of proper management in handling reservations.

Third, the service was subpar. A large platter was served without a single spoon to take food from, and by the time we received one, the food had already cooled down. Additionally, when we asked for minor modifications to the platter, we were bluntly told it wasn’t possible, without any effort to accommodate our request.

As for tipping—gratuity is earned through good service, not demanded. When the service is poor, customers have every right to decide whether or not to leave a tip. Rather than blaming customers, perhaps the focus should be on improving service standards.

No one disrespected the staff; in fact, it was the other way around. Given our experience, we would not recommend this...
