When I walked into the McDonald's of the ever-so-cosmopolitan city of Stallings, I was greeted by the wonderful smell of spoiled milk and soiled diapers. Overcoming my initial misgivings (I was really hungry, and in a hurry), I decided to place my order with the bearded daughter of Andre the Giant working the register. After I finished my order, I was informed with EXTREME politeness, the register was only accepting cards. No matter, I was allowed to return to the back of the line and wait ten more minutes for a register accepting my paper currency. The other debutante at the counter was equally genial, and greeted me with a respectful, "Here or to go?" I repeated my order to this fine, upstanding lady, and was handed, of course, incorrect change. The manager of the fine establishment was outside having a smoke, but was quite amicable about coming in from her paid, I'm assuming unauthorized, break to do her job. After receiving my proper change, I was handed a bag of food, and a hot fudge sundae that was more than half melted and as the lid was affixed improperly, spilled down the side of the cup. I know I shouldn't have, but I had the gall to request a new sundae, as this one had sat for some time while my error of accepting incorrect change was corrected by the management. The fine woman behind the counter "tsked" her tongue, but as she saw I was quite serious, she made me another, and presented it to me with a cordial, "Here." In my arrogance, I decided to check my bag to insure the correct items were included, which astoundingly they were not! I informed the leadership of this disparity, and it was corrected in a TIMELY manner, with NO muttering or complaining. I was even asked by the counter worker if I would like another sundae, without a hint of sarcasm! Only twenty minutes or so after entering this fine establishment, I was on my way again. I was almost late to my appointment, but the high quality food and the care that went into its perfect creation made up for all the failings. My burger didn't have what I asked for on it, but I love trying new things, and they even didn't include the bacon I paid extra for, which is better for my health! My large fry was only half full, again, looking out for my best interest, and my sweet tea only tasted a few days old. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends, my family, and foreign dignitaries. Give it a go! It's sure to be...

Read moreDowngrading from 4 stars to 2 stars. Arrived this evening around 9:25pm. Store hours are open till 10pm. I tried to enter, door was locked. Went to the next door, door was locked. I was concerned they were getting robbed. Went to the doors by the adjoining gas station, doors were locked. Cashier from gas station waved me to another door which was unlocked. Got in, walked up to the doors that separate McDonald's from the gas station and door was locked. Tried the one beside it and it opened. Really confused but placed my order to go. Another couple came in behind me and waited for about 5 minutes before they placed their order. Customer asked if the dining room was still open, reply was yes but closing early. I turned around and saw all the chairs stacked up on the tables.
Overheard conversations between employees that "yeah, we are closing early", "why would there only be two of us here" and other side conversations. My quotes are paraphrasing. Got my food and left. Still McDonald's quality overall though.
I don't understand this place with their service. This is a confusing Mcdonald's. There are days that service is excellent, there are days that service stinks. There are days that it is clean, there are days that there is litter around the restaurant. There are days that the fries are hot and fresh, there are days that they are slightly-warm and stale, There are days that you can be friendly with the staff and other days, you say thanks, have a great one and they respond with "yep". I still go here as typically it's a good experience and food. Just wish it was...
