Miguelo's Empanadas — Restaurant in Stallings

A first of its kind Empanada take-out joint in Indian Trail. I walked in on a Wednesday night about 5:30pm, a few people were inside ordering.

When I ordered the girl behind the register was nice and helpful. The place is spotless clean, no seating available. I ordered 3 emapandads: Pizza, Spicy chicken, and Spicy beef. They are all made to order so they came out piping hot and fresh.

They put them in a bag, but they don't label them so I had no idea which one I was biting into, which was fun since they were just for me- but could have been a problem if I was ordering for the family.

Food review: Empanadas were a decent size, hot and fresh- the Spicy Chicken and Beef were amazing in flavor, not too spicy. The Pizza empanada left a lot to be desired, there wasn't a whole lot of taste or filling, it was more gimmicky like a hot-pocket. I think a pizza empanada would be better air-fried or baked instead of deep fried.

Overall it was a really good experience and will definitely be back to try out the other flavors and dessert flavors. Also, its great to have a local joint with a new...

Carryout only, but don’t let that fool you—this spot is EXTREMELY clean, well-lit, and even has Miguelo’s merch for sale. Customer service is unmatched—Valeria was AMAZING! I wanted one of everything 😩😂 and she helped me narrow it down.

The empanadas are packaged with so much care, my favorite—the visible “stamp” in the dough. No guesswork (although my “BigBack” 🤷‍♀️ says sampling each would’ve a-O.K 🤦‍♀️🤣).

It’s a 35min drive to Stallings, and let’s just say… worth EVERY traffic slowdown &construction project encountered. I’ve already been back 3 weekends in a row 🙌🔥. “BITE, SMILE, REPEAT”

The inside was so clean and new. There was a display case with fried and baked options. I love how the name of what is inside is stamped on top. I was kindly and promptly greeted by Rey when I walked in. He answered my multiple questions and was very knowledgeable about the empanadas. I chose a shredded chicken, ham and cheese and spinach and cheese. I can speak to the spinach and cheese and the Pollo. I sent the ham and cheese with my granddaughter for lunch. The chicken was wonderful and just like the shredded chicken you would get at your favorite Mexican Restaurant! The spinach and cheese, also very good.
