This place used to be one of our local favorites. My family and I have been loyal customers, we’ve always loved the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, a recent visit really left a sour taste in our mouth.
We ordered breakfast sandwiches and, as we’ve done in the past, asked for certain toppings on the side. Last time, this request was totally fine—even after we were told the shop doesn’t customize breakfast sandwiches anymore. The workaround was simply placing items on the side, which seemed like a fair and reasonable compromise.
This time, however, the owner personally delivered our food and curtly told us, “Just so you know, we don’t customize our breakfast sandwiches.” I replied that there’s been inconsistency in the policy because I’ve ordered this way before and our sandwiches were, in fact, just served with those same customizations by the owner. Her response: “Yeah, I’m the owner and it’s a no,” and walked away without any further explanation and lacking any appreciation of our business…
What made this even worse was that I had a friend visiting from out of town—someone I had raved about this place to—and it was embarrassing to be treated so dismissively in front of them. It’s never a good feeling to bring someone somewhere you’ve hyped up, only to have them experience the opposite.
It was totally unpleasant and honestly bizarre to be treated that way. Rather than addressing what appears to be an internal communication issue with her team, the owner chose to confront and blame a loyal customer. Disappointing to say the least.
I hope this feedback encourages more consistent communication and a little more kindness in future interactions. And we will be bringing our business else where locally where we are treated kindly and...
Read moreWalking into this establishment feels like you are meeting with an old friend in a nostalgic place. Immediately, it smells of fresh baked goods. I saw people in the back baking- all smiling. They genuinely seemed to be enjoying what they were doing... and MAN could you taste that in the food. I ordered a chocolate hazelnut croissant (drooooool, I know). She was dusted in powdered sugar and just a little of the chocolate filling had oozed out. Still warm. Now, I am a home baker myself and I often struggle with getting baked goods out and about... I always feel like I enjoy mine more, and find myself asking if it really was worth the calories or the $5? In this case... the minute I took a bite of that buttery, flaky croissant and got a taste of the chocolate ALL BETS WERE OFF. This was surely worth the calories I will need to run off in the gym later, and to say I LOVED it would be a mega understatement. The service was immacukate- friendly conversation, quick delivery of order... it was great. I will for sure be back and I will be telling my friends about this too! Get the...
Read moreWe go weekly on Wednesdays, and it is the highlight of my youngest daughter's school mornings. The girls are SO friendly, kind, and truly love being there serving the community. We often see the owner and her little one there, and you can tell she takes pride in not only the food, drinks, and atmosphere but also her well selected employees. They make this place feel like a cozy extension of home. And the people who come and go, that's my favorite part to see! The gathering of community members who get what this place brings to our little town. If you don't know, ask them sometime what the significance of their name is. It will spark a feeling inside that perhaps you didn't know needed sparking! Try the cinnamon rolls. They...
