Chow Time Buffet — Restaurant in Statesboro

Had to pay prior to eating in a buffet, which is a first for me. I’m assuming it’s probably because they have dine and dashers in here. They qualify of food has strongly gotten lower as time has moved on. I remember when they had salmon and ribs not they just have undercooked shrimp mine turned out to be gray in color but the stuffing surrounding was okay. The food here is bland and oddly enough they’ve been serving this same stuff for almost a decade now to my knowledge. The best things are here are sesame chicken and coconut shrimp, their decent the shrimp has too much batter and the sesame chicken should really be labeled as garlic chicken because aside from the sugar it just gets overpowered by the taste of garlic. The rice and the majority of the foods here honestly have the texture and taste of cardboard box.

It’s bland and in my case of my shrimp it raw. The deserts I had were coffee cake which was good and this odd brownie type thing that some cookie like object on top. The coffee cake tasted old and stale but was ok, the the brownie was straight up tasteless and didn’t taste like anything at all. The pre made “salads” here really just taste like Mayo with a very small subtle hint of whatever solid food it’s on top of. Sushi here is either utter garbage or close to tasty something you’d get from a grocery store, the Mac and cheese taste tasteless artificial cheese and extremely watery. My wife, kids and I absolutely love Chinese food and especially a buffet. In saying that being new to Statesboro originally from Macon we were expecting delicious hot food and sushi. Well the food was all the worst I've ever had. It was lunch time so all of it was fresh. The shrimp was all kinda of nasty. Seemed like old frozen, thawed and re frozen and this goes for all the different types of shrimp dishes. The general chicken and sesame were both not edible. The beef and vegetables was also terrible. The sushi wasn't bad though I will say. Nasty acting rude servers to boot. Needless to say we now get our Chinese food from other establishments to go and are very satisfied. Sucks though because like I said we love buffets but will never return to this one. Ate here on November 19, 2021. The food was cold and disgusting especially for 40 dollars for 2 adults and a 2 yr old child. However, I wrapped it up as a loss and decided not to return. My family and I then left and we began to feel sick and we all had turns vomiting our food back up for the night. After calling and discussing it with the person on the job she told me to call back the next day to speak with a manager. I called still did not speak with a manager was told I had to have a Dr. Note stating that I got sick and vould not get a refund. Have continued to try and make contact with someone in charge but no luck so this is for anyone in the future who decides to give this place a chance save your time n money as well as your stomach.
