Best family mexican food restaurant in the boro! There are 3 different locations in statesboro alone so that should tell you there how good they are. The quality if service and food is top notch and unmatched by any other mexican style restaurants here in the area. We like to hold our family get togethers here like the birthday dinners for immediate family on their actual birthday. That's why the sombrero is pictured here as these photos were from my beautiful daughters birthday dinner. The atmosphere is perfect for families as well as date night or bar crowds depending on which location yo I choose to go to which I think is brilliant of them. Next time you go there try the Texas fajita nachos on rice instead of chips and add a little salsa and if you're a cheese lover like I am, i add a tad bit more of the cheese sauce too... oh my goodness yall... you're going to be thanking me and the Lord for life after you give that there a try! And the prices yall??? Just wow... nothing negative at all for this place!!! 10 stars if it were possible!!

Yeah I think this place is very much overrated!!!! The quality of service was not the best!!!! Our server was just not welcoming at all. He didn’t even take our order just kept passing by us. So we had to ask another person if they could take our order for us. He didn’t refill our chips and salsa either.... I ordered the veggie fajitas and my bread came hard and stale... and the veggies lacked seasoning. It was not great. Then my husbands food made him sick! And was not worth the price of $9. Food did not taste fresh at all!! We probably won’t be back!!!!!!!

Long long hometown fav for Mexican food. I do enjoy this smaller quieter location. A must have is the table side chunky guacamole--soooo good! Best chips and salsa around! Run in and get them to go any day anytime. Quesadilla ranchera or quesadilla parmesan are personal favs. Honestly everything I have tried has been YUM! Good service and moderate price is always a plus.

Make sure you go to the one behind the Exxon gas station. Very good and Cheap if you get the Fajita Nachos. The food is pretty authentic from what I can tell I mean I have never eaten food cooked by someone's grandmother who grew up in Mexico so how could I really know how authentic Mexican really tastes. A few words of caution however is that this place at peak dining hours is very busy so their will likely be a wait and when they are busy they will try and get you out like super quick. This has its perks in that you get your drinks and food very quickly but if you like to sit talk and enjoy your meal you may feel rushed. They will certainly let you stay for a while if you want but with people waiting on your table though and a kitchen staff that is somehow able to put a plate of food together so fast you won't understand how. It really would be kinda rude to stay much longer than is needed. The staff has always been very nice and attentive for the most part other than maybe a few over the years I have enjoyed the food at this wonderful resturant. I must confess though that it has been over a year since I have been here. Just don't really have a reason to anymore and we cook at home now normally. The food was always great though, with some days better than others, and I went pretty often for over four years. I very much doubt they have changed their food now. Oh and as for the other Elsoms they are not as good there ok but if you care about the way the food tastes. You have to choose this one even with a long wait. It is definitely worth it. Oh and I read that the food got worse when they expanded. I must say that I went a few times right after that was done and still enjoyed the food. It is possible I just got lucky when I went though I guess. Either way I very much hope the food did not change it was so good, and that would be sad to see a place that at least was the place to sit and eat if there was one turn into something less. I think it should still be a place everyone should give it a try though because there is no way it changed that much. Even if it was half of what it used to be it would be worth a try if you enjoy Mexican any. The only thing I think they could possibly have done is take some of the spicy out because of how much people complained. That said though people in America will always complain about something spicy so that should be ignored for the most part. Especially since I am sure that nearly all authentic Mexican is spicy. I don't know if fully spicy would be adviced, But for me I knew when the food was gonna taste good by how spicy the salsa was that day. If it tasted mostly like sage or tomatoes then oh well still good. If it were spicy though and I mean southeastern US spicy. Then you were in for a treat. So if your just messing around in statesboro and get kinda hungry then a good test would be go in let them direct you to a seat tell them you'll order a drink shortly and taste the salsa see if it has a little kick or is dominated by sage and tomatoes completely. If it has a little kick then all should be good, and order your drink. If not then excuse yourself and leave a couple dollars cuz they would technically have to throw all the chips and salsa away. They will probably tell you to just keep the money, but they could demand like three dollars if I remember how much the menu said it was if all you wanted was chips and salsa. It would certainly not have anyone like they used to have still there though because they were a rational and kind group. I also realy liked the sweet tea personaly, and I pretty much have to say that because of how manny times the waiters and waitresses had to come by the table and fill my glass. If the food quality has declined there please tell them when your leaving that they should try and make the food spicier people around here will complain about the spicy period because there not used to it. If you liked to much spicy however people would notice it not tasting nearly as good without knowing why. 1/4 to Half truly authentic Mexican...

This was a first time experience so... Food was good, not gone lie...but presentation and portion wasn't very appealing. My order wasn't accurate and was not appealing as my visible and coordinating neighbors. Had to ask for what was ordered and stated multiple times and to different servers. Which gave me the whatever look. Even for the lemon water I was drinking. Not to mention at our arrival party (2) and by the time our order arrived, we were the only colored couple there. I did see others that walked in then out due to whatever reasons. Not long enough for a dine in over the time I was there. Long story short. We finished up and was rushed our ticket, but no table service. Even though we were 2-3 ft from the server and kiosk. So we paid...of coarse for me no tip. Then as the lady server rushed to grab the tab...looked at me and my date and then turned and showed a male server and said " woooo omg no tip how cheap exact change...that why I don't serve them". I will never go again. The two stars were for the little food I received that was good. The rest was not comfortable for me especially to be paying the amount I did and...
