I am a veteran who is currently attending Georgia Southern University and I came into Freedom this past week on the 15th of August because I had an appointment to begin the new donor process. I was informed by nurse Fallon that I was deferred three years prior for medication. I am aware of company policy and know that she is supposed to provide me paperwork to bring into my doctor to get cleared for that medication. Now nurse Fallon did not want to give me that paperwork originally, in fact when she told me I was deferred, she tried ending the conversation there. When she was aware I knew the policy, she went to get the paperwork for me, however, she was gone for a long time. As she was gone, another nurse came over to me and asked what medication I had taken in the past and he used their SOP like they are supposed to and looked up my medication. He found that I did not need approval from a doctor to donate. Now, when nurse Fallon came back and saw the other nurse speaking to me she blurted out as she walked by that I needed to be cleared by a doctor. The nurse responded to nurse Fallon and said that I did not need the paperwork anymore and that I could donate. Nurse Fallon did not like that answer so instead of coming to me and pulling me into a room privately to discuss my medication and what the SOPās rules are on my medication, she chose to go into the center of the donation center and run her mouth out of ignorance about me and my medication to the screeners and for all donors to hear. She admitted out loud to everyone that instead of using the SOP, she chose to google my medication and diagnose me off of what she first came across on the internet. She insinuated to the employees, who I am supposed to be getting screened by next, that I could be crazy or dangerous. I was waiting in the waiting area for the next step to be screened, but instead I had to sit there and watch nurse Fallon violate HIPAA. Now, I have filed a complaint with the State of Georgia for the violation of HIPAA at this facility. I am not sure why a company would allow such a nurse to work for them knowing she does not follow HIPAA, which can result all the way up to a 50,000 dollar fine and on top of that, nurse Fallon sends away potential donors because she doesnāt want to be truthful about the new donor process and do her job by providing donors with the paperwork allowing them to donate. I also will be contacting the facilities regional managers for this situation because it is absurd that anyone trying to donate should have to experience defamation of their character like I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there for my first donation, and it took them 15 minutes and 3 different ānursesā to find my vein. They ended up incorrectly inserting the needle and could not receive enough blood for a small sample. They gave me the full compensation for a donation and told me to come back in two days. When I showed up to my next appointment, they told me I could not donate because I donāt have āsuitableā veins. I have been donating blood regularly my entire life, and get blood work done every six months at my primary physicians office, and no one has ever had a problem finding my veins. In my experience, it seems that none of the staff here are probably trained to do their jobs; they all seem very unprofessional. Once again, this has been MY experience, Iām sure there are properly trained staff here, but I did not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām extremely disappointed with the service and operations at this establishment. Despite their advertised opening time of 7:00 AM, they consistently fail to open on time. Customers are left waiting outside in freezing temperatures (44°F on the day I visited), with no explanation or apology. Even once inside, the disorganization continuesāsupplies are often missing, and employees are rude and dismissive. Itās clear that respect for customersā time is not a priority here.
Appointments mean nothing, as the staff are always running behind schedule, leaving people to wait for hours. The lack of professionalism and consideration is appalling. This place is a waste of time, and I strongly recommend others look for more reliable and respectful...
