El Sombrero Restaurant — Restaurant in Statesboro

No stranger to this particular restaurant. My husband and I drive 40 minutes to dine. Have never had ANY complaints until yesterday. Ordered Horchata as we always do and requested it slightly warmed as we always do. This time the drink tasted sour (wasn't at all fresh). We made the waitress aware that the drinks tasted sour to which she replied, "Well we're going to have to charge you for them because they are "expensive imports." To which we couldn't help but laugh. Horchata is made with rice, water, vanilla, cinnamon and sugar and unless the owner's abuela in México is making and shipping it to the states, it is not an "expensive import." What she didn't know was that mi esposo es colombiano y his padres y amigos are from Central and South America and that in our lives horchata is a common beverage right up there with agua y café. No napkins, over-fried french fríes w/ketchup packet toppings (covid restrictions but ketchup packets sitting ontop of my fries), flies, shrimp chimichanga hold the shrimp add extra wrapping and a shrimp quesadilla disguised as a taco we will NEVER return. Placed an online order, I can’t eat dairy so I just ordered side items. I ordered three orders of beans w no cheese. I think there was a glitch in the app because the order got sent twice accidentally. They had two tickets, one said no cheese & one w cheese.

They decided to make the order anyways before I got there. I asked if they could just remake my three side order of beans without cheese because that’s what I ordered. I was told there was no way to remake it, to get a refund for the order through the appl.& basically acted annoyed w me, did not at all care about customer service or even try to make it right or find a solution.

They also messed up my boyfriends order, he ordered nachos over rice & only got nachos. There was not even a single apology. It was really upsetting & they could’ve at least pretended to care. Will not be going back & suggest others to do...

Food is great. Always love the food. Never have had a problem with employees until today. My daughter is tired and just irritated today. She is 2 that is normal sometimes. Well I got my daughter aunt to take her to the car on the way out. Well I was about 5 steps behind her. Well she went out the door with screaming daughter. Well I walked around the Corner to go out to and 3 waitress was right there. Well one that didn’t even serve us says (I wish my child would act like that in public) my daughter is 2! She gets in moods and anybody else who had children can vouch and say it happens! ...I called her a inappropriate name and walked out and I do respect our waitress came out to the car and gave me a hug and said sorry.
