i used to go to Shane's a bit up in Atlanta but have not gone in a while since moving here. I consider Shane's like the fast food of BBQ, which is not necessarily a bad thing as it's cheap and fast. I got the half slab combo with two sides and drink and yikes it was like $26 with tip. I know price inflation and all that has gone up, but this is what I expect from a higher end place. So, everything looked great and was Instagram-worthy, but the ribs were a bit dry and tough. I normally just eat with the dry rub as meat should have lot of flavor there with the smoke, but had to add sauce here. The okra and coleslaw were excellent. What was a bit annoying were the flies everywhere that I had to swat away every few seconds. That and the table of students who don't understand what an indoor voice is. And that tool who keeps asking question after question trying to impress the chick on a cringe-worthy date. SMH. I'm fine with coming back, just did not expect Shane's to be the highest priced BBQ...
Read moreI just went to a doctor's appointment and smelled someone's lunch in the lounge... immediately I wanted BBQ with all my heart! I went over to Shane's since it was close by, but honestly I wish I hadn't. I ordered a plate of BBQ chicken with mac and cheese and baked beans. There were no green beans or collards on the menu behind the server, otherwise I would have chosen a veggie. The chicken and mac were okay, kind of reminiscent of food you'd get at a hospital with a pretty good kitchen. The baked beans were, very unfortunately, spiced strangely. I LOVE baked beans and get them any time I have BBQ, but I couldn't finish these (and that's saying a lot). I even tried adding barbeque sauce to drown out whatever flavor was unpleasant, but I couldn't make it go away. After tip, I paid just over $18 for a lunch that was fairly disappointing. I feel like there are much, much better BBQ restaurants in Bulloch county for the same price. The interior was cute and clean, though, and the server...
Read moreExtremely disappointed in my experience. Twice in a row we were served undercooked chicken. The first visit it happened they fixed it quickly and the manager was apologetic. After almost a month we decided to try again. This time we ordered hot wings. The wings came out half freezing cold- not cooked all the way. Not to mention a the sides were room temp and not fresh. We sent the wings back only for them to cook them too long and dried them out and almost burnt them to the point where the skin was tough and hard to chew. I asked for a manager- a girl came out and looked at me like I was stupid. She said “uhhh I can offer you a refund or some peach cobbler I just made.” My family was hungry and I was aggravated. I took the partial refund (31 out of an almost 50 dollar ticket) and left. I doubt we’ll be back again. Undercooked/raw chicken is a HAZARD! The food is definitely not worth the price or the risk of...
