Top's China Express — Restaurant in Statesboro

I try not to be too harsh on restaurants, but you can't fix it if you don't know what's wrong. The service was quick and efficient. No problem. The restaurant looked clean. No problem. The food was the problem. I ordered Hot & Sour Soup. I like my soup, and any other food, served hot, but this soup was scalding hot, as if it had been microwaved for ten minutes. I'm surprised that the plastic cup it was served in didn't melt. It was also extremely spicy. I also have to guess that the restaurant's water is not filtered. The soup had a strange undertaste, as if it was cooked with the kind of tap water you find in parts of Florida. We also ordered the General Tso's Chicken. Very strange texture and very soggy chicken. The fried rice was pretty good, and the egg rolls were very tasty. However, the General's Chicken was just awful. I hope they have better dishes on the menu, but for this night, it just wasn't good at all. I recommend better quality chicken, and cook it crispy. Install a water-filtering system that would make the soup taste better (cleaner). Serve very hot soup, but not scalding/scorchingly hot soup. Cook the egg rolls a little more...

This was a great option in the Boro when they first opened about 5 years ago. Now it’s hit or miss with the food and the service. I’ve returned food there that wasn’t made as requested.

Yesterday was our final time going there. My father picked up an order last night and asked for mustard while our food was being bagged. The person at the register took the soy sauce and duck sauce from the bags and replaced them with 2 packets of hot mustard...really? If condiments are a premium charge extra for them. I won’t...

If you’re looking for amazing Chinese takeout pick Tops China. The food here was fresh, flavorful and hot. The orange chicken I had there had the right amount of tangy sweet sauce and the fried rice was perfectly seasoned. Not just the food was very good, the staff was friendly, fast and efficient including busy hours. Honestly, this is my go-to place whenever I am craving comfort food or need something quick and satisfying. Highly recommend to anyone who wants quality Chinese take...
