Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Stephens City

I discovered this ice cream shop one day when I was lost, and now I 'get lost' on purpose when I'm in the Kernstown area just so my service dog and I have an excuse to go eat some Bruster's ice cream. I'm a bit picky about ingredients and quality of companies who say they sell premium ice cream, but I can assure you Bruster's is on the higher end of premium quality ice cream. Do not hesitate to 'get lost' in Kernstown and visit this ice cream shoppe because you won't be sorry. The flavors and quality are simply out of this world. Oh, and don't forget to bring your dog to share your ice cream. Ask for a complimentary doggie bone, and the nice ladies inside Bruster's will come out and take your dog's Polaroid picture for their wall of satisfied dog-star customers. The nice young ladies inside are very friendly and polite here, too. They enjoy watching dogs nosh on their ice cream! Not an ounce of trash about their sitting area. My husband and I went for the first time the other day. I had a waffle bowl with their salted caramel toffee and caramel brownie batter ice creams. Sublime combination! My husband had a waffle cone with salted caramel toffee and peanut butter Oreo. Out ice cream was super creamy, the nicest texture, and the waffle was fresh and crisp. They have oat-based vegan ice cream options but they don't seem very confident about preventing allergies or cross-contamination. Despite this, I had a vegan mint chip even though I'm allergic to dairy and nuts. The flavor was not very minty and the chocolate was salty in a way that clashed with the ice cream, which lacked sweetness in my opinion. The texture was incredibly creamy and decadent though, which was great.
