Golden Chick — Restaurant in Stephenville

There were 2 cars in front of me. I was in line for 30 minutes after placing my order. The girl at the window didn't offer any explanation nor apology. She also didn't repeat my order back to me or greet me at all, just opened the window, staring out at me for a moment before saying my total (not confirming my order, just demanding payment.) The only other words she said were "drink" and "straw" as she handed each of those to me, and then nothing while she handed back my card, handed me my food, and closed the window without so much as a thank you. I've worked customer service for 12 years, and I know for a fact that it's not hard to apologize for a wait or thank someone for their business.

EDIT TO ADD: I just tried this location again because I never learn. I tried calling first to make sure they were open and got no answer. I waited a few minutes and called again, just in case maybe they just didn't get to the phone in time. The voicebox is full by the way. Still no answer. I had to pass by to get home anyway so I saw they were open and went through the drive thru. They need a new speaker box because I had to repeat my order multiple times for them to get it right. 2 fried legs. No, not two 30 pieces. 2 legs that are fried. No, not a 3 piece with 2 legs and 1 thigh, I don't eat thighs. Just a 2 piece, both legs. No, not a 2 piece with a leg and a thigh. I. Do. Not. Eat. Thighs. I want 2 legs. And a Dr pepper. It was finally correct on the screen. At the window, I asked if the phone was messed up because I had tried to call ahead. No, they just don't answer it. Cool. This place was “Okay” when I moved here 3 years ago. Now, the chicken has no flavor, they’re stingy with portions and they have no customer service skills. The line is always long, it takes them 15 minutes to serve one vehicle. I got the smallest chicken tenders and some crusty batter that contained no chicken. They do not give you enough gravy for all your tenders and good luck getting another even if you ask for it. Add to all of this the fact that they’re increasing prices to exorbitant amounts. Turn over is high and there will be a new face every time. This place is a joke. Chicken express is cheaper, huge portions and their food has flavor. We recently picked up an order in the drive through while in a hurry. Got to our destination and found that we were missing both family sides. I called and asked them to refund the money for just that part but they flatly refused even after the employee confirmed he’d left them out. My only option was to go back…which wasn’t an option for me. I don’t like paying for something I didn’t get. They happily took my money and shorted me, and there is nothing I can do. I find it troubling enough that I will be avoiding that restaurant from now on. It’s a shame because the fried and roasted chicken are generally good.
