Al-Shahbaa الشهباء — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

I’ve eaten at this restaurant before, and I wanted to try it again despite all the criticism and bad reviews. I placed my order, and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I waited for 40 minutes, and the food was still not ready. I went to check to make sure it wouldn’t take longer. After a while, they gave me my food — but it wasn’t what I ordered. I had ordered beef shawarma, and they gave me chicken shawarma instead.

I went to her politely and told her that this wasn’t what I ordered. She looked annoyed and told me she couldn’t change the order unless I paid more. I didn’t mind and paid extra. Then they made me wait another 40 minutes. I started to get upset, and my mother went to tell them the order was taking too long. The owner came out, started yelling at us, cursing, and told us to get out of the restaurant. She spoke in a very disrespectful way.

I told her to stop talking like that, but she didn’t. So I asked to cancel my order and get my money back. Her son refused and told me to leave without returning my money. I told him I would call the police if they didn’t refund me. They finally gave me my money back but started mocking my appearance and my mother’s, insulting us even more, saying my mom’s face looked funny.

I came here because of the good reviews and because I like shawarma. I placed an order over the phone and they told me it would be 15 minutes. Upon arriving, The restaurant was dirty and I still had to wait over half an hour for a beef shawarma which is just ridiculous. It was also probably the worst and most expensive shawarma i've ever eaten in my life and the garlic sauce was even worse. So after seeing how bad it was I was wondering how they had so many good reviews. After reading a lot of them I noticed a lot of them were made with AI and were most likely bots (proof attached). What's even worse is when someone leaves a bad review they either blame the restaurant next door or snap back with a very unprofessional response which is just not how you talk to customers who are giving you constructive criticism. Dirty, flys everywhere, 4 tables in there all four tables dirty, salt and pepper shakers dirty, olive oil bottles empty and dirty, service extremely slow, could not answer simple questions at the front cashier, asked if their shawarma was dark meat and white meat the response was “ we don’t serve black chicken” bro are you serious with that response??
