Bangkok Cuisine — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

Second time here, and second time we had issues with the waitress. This should never be a problem. 1st off, restaurant was freezing cold and actually made my food cold, bathroom had piles of "stuff" in the hallway which is probably a fire Hazzard, washing my hands was painful with icy cold water, there was no way I would even consider using the toilet. This was not a good start.

When waitress brought out soup, she didn't bother to check back in with us, as I wanted to change my soup. I had no idea I was getting a spicy soup, wouldhavebeengreat to know since Iordered no spice in my dinner order. The table next to use was getting fabulous service as it was a group of 4 police officers. No problem, but the waitress would not even make eye contact with us and after bringing their table water refills, she walked right past so I said loudly "water?" because she was walking away and blatantly ignored us until I said something.

My order was almond chicken no mushrooms. She brought out our food plates without the rice and said nothing. as I was getting ready to go to the front counter, she came back with the rice. My order had mushrooms so I sent it back and sat there for 10 minutes eating plain rice while they remade mine. Again the restaurant was so cold that my rice was actually getting cold on my plate. My second order ALSO had mushrooms in it so I just decided to pick them out which was difficult due to the heavy sauce. I wasn't going to wait another 10 minutes for my food, while my friend was done eating.

I typically gather up my plates at the table for the waitress, to help with clean up but this was not going to happen today. I had my arm in a sling, would have been nice for her to at least offer to package up my food for me.

When we walked up to pay the bill which was about $30, the lady at the register had the audacity to ask me if I left a tip at the table so I replied yes, because I am not arguing with people, her tip was nothing and that's what was at the table. How incredibly rude and did they really think I was going to tip for them messing up my order and ignoring us? Who does that? This is the first time in YEARS I have not left a tip. The comment from the lady at the counter, seems to indicate this happens alot.

I understand some things are unavoidable and out of the waitress control. but to be completely honest, she barely tried and was a seasoned waitress, not new. The restaurant was not even packed with people.

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 15 years and in general their food is really good but sometimes like with any restaurant the food turns out badly. I the pictures do not do justice for how badly this order was. I picked up my foot at 850pm I sat down to eat it at 10:08 pm like I always do. I say all excited to eat, I opened the box for the crab Ragu and all the cream cheese had been cooked Up and out of the point So there was no cream cheese filling so it started there. It was upset but OK let me start on my pad Thai.. I opened it up and the peanuts looked really dark but I thought what do I know? So I mixed it up. And noticed it was full of wetness. The noodles were all chopped up into tiny little pieces, so I did not get to enjoy the noodle.. The peanuts tasted stale and burn. I tried really hard to eat it and I could not. It was so bad. So I called Bangkok the very next day and told them about it. I was put on hold for about three minutes then I was told that there was nothing they could do for me because I didn’t return it the same day or call the same day, The store closes at 9 PM so I could not have called the same day. I was told that I would get a call from the manager which after a few hours I did I missed it and I called her back. That’s all she wanted to do was argue with me about how I didn’t return it Same day when I explained to her over and over and over again that I couldn’t because they were Closed she said well then there’s nothing we can do for you. Then she went on to say how it was my fault because I chose not to eat the food as soon as I got home. I told her that I was gonna write a bad review and she said I don’t care go ahead. Everybody loves us. I told her I love them too, but that I had a bad experience and I just wanted my food replaced. She blamed me for the food being bad and blamed me for not contacting them on the night that I got it? When I said they were closed, so there was no way for me to contact them. She then said, Oh well we stay a little later then 9 you should have called me. So after about 10 minutes of her blaming me for my food not being good she said there’s nothing I can do for you and that she didn’t care if I wrote a bad review because everybody loves them. I spent $31.54 on food that I literally could not eat. She didn’t even care that I had been coming there for years along with all of my adult kids and that none of use would ever eat there again. Bangkok cuisine used to have the finest Thai food you could buy anywhere. Over the last few years every time I've decided to give it a try and go back because I really miss having that good food I'm disappointed but this time it was bad enough I called them and I didn't have time to return the food. I had never called before and I have never written a restaurant review before but I will tell you that the food is terrible. We ordered medium spice and there was no spice The noodles were cooked to the point of mush and the rice tasted old and the chicken was way overcooked and did I mention no spice. I do not know who owns the restaurant now but I will never go back. I have eaten and probably every Thai restaurant in the metro area at one point or another and Bangkok which used to be at The finest of all of them is now the worst of all of them. When I called them today they accuse me of having called in the past and I had never called before to complain not only that it appeared in talking to the girl who answered the phone as well as the chef that they're used to these calls. If you love Thai food, even if you just merely like Thai food this is the last place you will want to go. I am so disappointed as I am not sure I will ever taste food as good as what used to be...
