I have never felt disrespected at a restaurant like I did here. I drove 30 minutes from home to come here because I had came two times before and thought the food was good (that was before the TikTok fame) when I got inside I seen it was crowded so I was prepared to wait. Here is where the problem came at white man and white woman were behind me. Behind them was a white lady and her three older sons. I ordered a pita wrap and build your own bowl. I then sat down and waited and so did the others when they were done ordering. After about 25 minutes of waiting one the cook comes out and he goes to the white man and woman who were sitting directly next to me and ask what they had they proceeded to say a chicken wrap and beef wrap both with fries. He said he’s about to work on it. Then he went to the white ladies and her sons on the other side of the restaurant and ask the same thing. He had to walk back behind the counter which means he had to pass me and the couple to get there so he reassured them again he was about to work on there food and didn’t even look my way. Not wanting to be label the angry black woman I didn’t say anything and remained patient. Another 10 minutes went by and multiple people are coming in mostly men and they were helping them asking what you have and so on. Still no one checked on me. Finally another lady got a bowl and the girl who rung me up said you want to start you bowl as well so I started it but had to wait for chicken for it to be completed. Remember I only had the bowl and beef wrap. Another 10 minutes go by they bring the couple who order after me their two wraps then the family who order after them their food shortly after. By this point I been there 40 minutes so I go to the counter and say how long because I can’t wait any longer. They say 3 minutes another 15 minutes goes by still nothing I get up to request a refund and they rush food to me. The food was NOT good the beef was tough and the chicken was barely in my bowl.
I will not be back not that I think they care because it didn’t seem they wanted my...
Read moreA friend of mine has been telling me about this place for months, raving about their burgers. Finally after working in the community garden one night, he asked me if I had eaten dinner. I hadn't, so we decided to come here. The restaurant is set in a little strip mall across from the Polish cultural center, so it is extremely easy to find. The bright and cheerful ropes of red and blue lights on the facade help too. The first thing that hits you are the bright colors. Purple and green with black and white checked tile. Everything is VERY clean and shiny. The set up is much like a subway, but that is where the similarities end. There are signs above the counter telling you how to order. The combinations are endless. You can get a bowl, plate, wrap, or an Iraqi bread that looks like a giant pita pocket. Choose what you want and they make it right in front of you. Even though we got burgers I wanted to watch the process. Everything looked so good that I ordered a small tabouli and baba ganoush for my lunch today. Nick wouldn't charge me for the pita bread. (Thanks Nick!) Now-onto the burger. I ordered the Baghdad burger. It was great! The meat is seasoned, so its not your typical plain salt-and-peppered patty. It's slathered with HP sauce and mayo on a REAL bakery bun with nice big slices of red onion, tomatoes, and leaf lettuce. I took a picture and put my can of Pepsi behind it so folks could gauge the size. I ate the rest of it cold for breakfast this morning. It was just as good cold. The seasoning really sets this burger apart. And it was only 5.99 with fries, which were also excellent. I felt so well taken care of that I found myself sweeping up crumbs from the table, just like I do at home. Next time we will eat outside at one of their tables. It is very easy to eat healthy here, and I am looking forward...
Read moreI visited this place on my lunch break since it wasn’t too far from where I was. I had seen a TikTok video giving it a great review, so I decided to give it a try. It’s a small, simple storefront tucked away in a shopping plaza.
I think the restaurant could benefit from being a bit more organized, which would really help with efficiency. I waited about 25 minutes for my food. While waiting, I noticed the two guys cooking seemed a little lost in the order of tickets. The woman at the counter was busy juggling phone orders, walk-ins, and DoorDash pickups — and it was clear the lunch rush hit fast.
When I arrived, there were only a couple of guests waiting, but they ended up waiting even longer than I did. One of the cooks had to stop cooking to come from behind the counter to deliver their food to the table.
I ordered a Fattoush Salad with breaded chicken. The salad was made fresh, and the chicken was cooked to order, which I appreciated. However, I wasn’t a fan of the ranch dressing — it tasted a bit watered down and didn’t add much flavor.
Overall, the food was fresh, but the service and organization could use some improvement — especially during...
