Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with the Turkish breakfast I just devoured? It wasn't just a meal; it was an experience, a vibrant tapestry of flavors and textures that danced on my palate and left me utterly satisfied. From the moment the beautifully arranged platter arrived, I knew I was in for something special. Forget your standard eggs and toast – this was a feast fit for royalty. Imagine a generous spread of creamy, tangy beyaz peynir (white cheese) alongside salty, crumbly tulum peyniri. Nestled amongst them were glistening olives of every shade, from deep black to vibrant green, each bursting with its own unique brine. And the jams! Oh, the homemade jams! A rich fig jam, a sweet and slightly tart cherry preserve, and a golden honeycomb dripping with natural sweetness – each one a perfect accompaniment to the crusty, warm bread that kept appearing as if by magic. But the stars of the show, for me, were the menemen and the sucuklu yumurta. The menemen, a vibrant scramble of tomatoes, peppers, and onions, cooked to a perfect, slightly runny consistency, was bursting with fresh, summery flavors. And the sucuklu yumurta? Spicy Turkish sausage cooked with eggs, its rich, savory aroma filling the air and its bold flavor providing a delightful kick. Every element on the platter felt thoughtfully chosen and prepared with care. The fresh cucumbers and tomatoes provided a refreshing counterpoint to the richer elements, while the sprinkling of fresh parsley added a bright, herbaceous note. Even the strong, fragrant Turkish tea served in delicate tulip-shaped glasses felt like an integral part of the ritual. The sheer variety was astounding, yet everything harmonized beautifully. It wasn't just about filling your stomach; it was about savoring each bite, engaging all your senses, and enjoying the company around the table. This Turkish breakfast wasn't just excellent; it was a revelation. If you ever have the chance to indulge in one, seize it with both hands (and a very empty stomach!). You...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of visiting Galata during their soft opening, and wow—what an unforgettable experience! This is hands down the best Turkish food we’ve ever had.
We ordered and began with the lentil soup, which was an absolute masterpiece. It was rich, flavorful, and unlike any lentil soup we’ve tasted before—perfectly spiced and comforting. Truly the best we’ve ever had.
For the main course, we opted for the shish kebap, and it completely stole the show. The meat was incredibly tender, bursting with flavor, and cooked to perfection. It was so good we couldn’t resist ordering seconds!
Having enjoyed Turkish food in many different states, I can confidently say that Galata surpasses them all. On top of the phenomenal food, the atmosphere was amazing—warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about ensuring every guest has a great experience. And to top it all off, the restaurant was impeccably clean, adding to the overall sense of care and quality.
If you’re looking for a place to indulge in top-tier Turkish food, this is it. We can’t wait to return and try even more from their menu! We will be...
Read moreSuch a sad experience. We came in and we were told to seat ourselves. We did, no one came for our order, after a half hour we flagged down a waiter ourselves to take our order. The bread was ice cold and so was the lentil soup we ordered. The islander kabob was good but the worst part was that we had also ordered a mixed grill for the table and we sat and waited and waited and then after 40 min goes by we asked the waiter where are order was, and then they told us we never ordered it!! So you think an entire group ordered only one Kebob order? Ridiculous. On top of that we were never served or offered water and never followed up at all by any waiters, it was like we were serving ourselves the entire time. This was extremely disappointing as we were excited to finally have a Turkish restaurant near us, but this turned out to be the absolute worst experience of our lives at any restaurant, ever. Please don’t waste your money and time there are so many better restaurants next to us. They won’t last long if they keep treating their...
