My husband and I ate at the restaurant part of this place and the food is awesome. We decided to hold our son's birthday here. The price was in our budget with 100 adults and 28 kids. For appetizer we chose potato and cheese pierogis and polish meatballs. We picked the dill soup, house salad, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, city chicken, mashed potato, and green beans. We also decided to use their cheesecake for dessert. Be aware, they charge $0.50 per person for dessert and another extra $0.50 if you bring your own cake. On my invoice I saw a charge and thought it was for having my own cake. One of the owners explained that it was for the cheesecake and not the cake. We had to pay an extra $70 at the end of the event. I would have omit the cheesecake if they had explained this in advance.
Our guest loved the food, especially the dill soup and stuffed cabbage. The complaint we had was the dinner service. We were served family style because there was no room for buffet style. There were only 2 people on the floor when the food was being served. I noticed when a couple of tables were almost done eating, some tables had not been served with the main courses and sides. This really upset me. I could tell some of my guest were annoyed, especially the ones with children. I had to delay the main activity which made guest leave before the cake was served. So much cake leftover. I truly recommend buffet style or make sure you have at least 1 server per 2 tables.
The bartender was the best. She's the reason I gave this place a 4 stars instead of 3 stars. I wish I could remember her name because you can request employees.
Overall, we definitely recommend this place...
Read moreI was fine with the food here. I think most meat dishes done here are done well.
I got the polish feast and it came with polish meatballs, city chicken, cabbage wrapped pork, pork cutlet, mashed potato and assorted pierogis.
For the meat dishes, everything but the cutlet was pretty good. Especially the cabbage wrapped pork. The tomato sauce + the meat and the cabbage come together for a strong flavorful dish that is moist with a good cabbage crunch.
The cutlet is tough and the breading doesn't quite stick to the meat.
The Sauerkraut is a little too mushy and watery. But the sausage it pairs with has a nice strong bite with a strong flavor I enjoyed.
The city chicken was fine.
The meatballs were amazing. I loved how soft they were and the sauce they were drenched on.
The mashed potato was not like fully mashed randomly and the inside wasn't that flavorful.
I was displeased with the pierogi with the sweet filling and the savory wrap. The regular other pierogis are fine, but the wrapping is not...
Read moreI have been eating lunch at the restaurant in this venue for the past year because I belong to a bridge group that plays cards there once per week. Although trying several different options on the menu, I have not eaten anything I would consider very good. I could put up with that given having somewhere for our group to play cards; what I cannot overlook any longer is the poor service and being treated like second class citizens. We are paying customers too! We are a group of senior citizens, some with medical issues requiring the need for something to eat or drink in a more timely fashion. We arrive at 10:30 a.m. and often are not waited on to eat until after 1-2pm. This past week it was 3 p.m. because all other public walk ins are waited on first. Part of the problem is they don't have enough staff, but it is inexcusable for them and "the manager" to walk passed us and not even acknowledge or offer a kind word for the wait! I am sorry to say there is no excuse for this blatant...
