Nectar Cocktail Bar... Where do I begin.

This is going to be a 2-Way review (stay tuned for the Crooked Run review!), so bear with the lengthyness of this one.

To keep it straight:

-Service is always a 10/10. If you know what you want, you're getting it. Period, the end. Do your own research and look at the menus, my friends. If you have a specific request, bartenders at Nectar are ALWAYS more than welcome to accommodate the highest standard possible.

-Atmosphere - This here is the big one. I'm a frequent flier of the Friday night Karaoke sessions hosted by On Point Entertainment (@onpointentertainmentva for my Instagram-savvy ones!), and let me tell you, it is ALWAYS a hit. This is the kind of Friday night that you can always count on to start your weekend off on the most REFRESHING foot! It's welcoming, it's warm, and the CROWD always leaves you yearning for more from our local vocal enthusiasts! Steve and Lucy are some of the GREATEST hosts of these Friday night sessions, and it's an absolute blessing to have them to constantly fuel my lively social endeavors.

Not a great place for singles.

The small bar faces the bathroom so you have to take a walk to mingle with people. Bartenders are understaffed so you can't really chat w them. The events after 7pm are usually good but you have to stand or take up a table

This place has a nice stage but it gets LOUD. i stopped going karaoke bc Dj has to match volume w audience screaming womanchildren

The pizza is Crazy expensive. The only menus are these tiny pamphlets hidden behind the bar which makes it look like a FAT impulse buy. pizzazone takes up half the worker' space but isnt presented to the customers properly. 30 dollars for a pie inside a bar no thank you man

Outside the building theres a huge seating area which is GREAT if you make/have friends in Nova.

The cocktails are interesting. Know what you want before ordering bc there's little time to hash it out with the tenders' workload. Sitting at the bar u will need patience past 6pm, just stand in line & buy something.

'cocktail bar' made me think it was more chill upscale like something Dell/one loudoun. The cocktails are just an accessory to the hubbub

Crooked Run is connected, some good trys for beer lovers. I will say the taco joint is pretty great compared to Taco Zocalo. Good prices, hot sauce options, Great...

I really wanted to like this place. But this place has very few drinks that aren't watered down and the atmosphere past 9pm is weird. The night I went they DJ was playing ridiculously loud Rave style music. But it wasn't good rave music. The location is very cute & classy modern boho chic with a (fake) plant wall. Aesthetically nice. The best part of the place. As a visitor, I would not return to this establishment. Also, I ordered a Violette Papillion drink and it was WEIRD. I consider myself a fan of unusual drinks. Especially gin drinks. I was instructed to chew a flower before tasting the drink and while it was a novel mouth numbing experience I don't think the drink was particularly good nor would I want to repeat the experience. Especially for $15+. I give it 3 stars because it missed the mark for me, but I'm sure there is someone out there who likes overpriced drinks and going deaf from bad head banger music....
