I’ve always enjoyed Chef Chu’s wontons, which used to be a standout dish for me. However, since the change in ownership, I’ve noticed a shift in the quality and consistency of their wontons. While they’re still decent, they no longer capture the same exceptional flavor and texture that made them a favorite.
On a positive note, their pot stickers are excellent! However, I did notice that the coconut shrimp has changed as well. During my most recent visit, the shrimp were noticeably smaller, and the sauce tasted like it might have been pre-packaged rather than freshly made, which was disappointing.
Unfortunately, the biggest issue during our most recent visit was the service. We found a piece of hair in our food. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this is not something you expect to see in a restaurant. When we respectfully informed the waiter, he seemed confused and unprepared to address the issue. We had to repeat ourselves several times, and instead of apologizing or offering a resolution, he just walked away. A simple apology or acknowledgment would have gone a long way, but the lack of professionalism made the experience even more disappointing.
Overall, the declining food quality and poor handling of customer concerns have left me unwilling to return. Chef Chu’s used to be a favorite, but sadly, it’s no...
Read moreI have always gotten delivery. Either through their website ordering system or door dash. They always accommodate any special requests (just make sure to say extra cost approved or you'll get a call). Every time I have ordered the food has come hot and delicious. Door dash is good about no contact and following delivery notes (do not ring doorbell. Dog will freak) but their in house drivers aren't so good at not handing the food to me, thus freaking the dog out. That would probably be my only compliment and it's a small one. I recommend pot stickers, lo main (plain) w/ an order of habachi chicken 🤤, sweet and sour chicken is great, any of their fried rice uncle rodger would be proud of. This is the type of Chinese restaurant that you shouldn't be afraid to expand your palette. I know people will always order the same thing they are use to but I feel no matter what you get from here it...
Read moreEgg drop soup? More like egg ROT soup. I ordered some egg drop soup and orange chicken. Was eating the chicken, but it was so overpoweringly sweet and overcooked I had to switch to the soup. Soup tasted alright, but when I took it out of the fridge a few hours later it smelled kind of off so I put it back. 4am the next morning I was on the toilet and very sick. There was an unmistakable smell of the egg drop soup. After I finally felt better I want back to inspect the soup, and lo and behold it was rancid, smelling of rotten eggs. The next day I called to inform them and attempt to get a refund (the food was pricier than you'd expect for the quality), but I was met with denail. "Our soup very good, very fresh" was repeated over and over again. They claimed that if I did not go to the hospital I did not really get sick. Will be submitting a complaint and warning people...
