Love the shrimp, but the sauce is the BEST! I have been to Lawrence's and other shrimp places, but do not care for them as much as Frank's Chicago. I began going to what I believe to be the original location on Archer Ave. I remember going there as a child, over 35 years ago! The location is tiny, but so full of flavor! This specific location in Burbank is also quite small, but the food is just as good! I have had many other things other than the shrimp, but the shrimp is what keeps me going back time and time again.
I recommend the BBQ Hot sauce, although the BBQ mild is also delicious! I hear their shrimp come from the Gulf of Mexico, so I know they fresh and are not coming from China or some...
Read moreFirst time coming to Frank's. I decided to give them a try because of the reviews. I went to the Burbank location. The lady was friendly and kind. I was not impressed at all with the shrimp. The shrimp have a old and fishy taste. They taste freezer burnt or like they had been in the freeer too long. I got the chicago style which were described as garlic flavored. These were the most bland unseasoned shrimp. They lacked flavor and seasoning. I didn't like them at all. The coctail sauce was good though. Next time I will just take the trip to Bob's shrimp in Indiana, if I want delicious fried shrimp. I definitely wasted my money...
Read moreTypical of Chicago fried shrimp houses, though a good bit more barren than other's I've visited. This is purely takeout. There is no area to eat in. The shrimp is pretty good. The taste is not as good as other places, but their jumbo shrimp are larger than other places....and if you're dipping it on lots of cocktail sauce - the way I like it - it tastes good. Hush puppies are pretty decent, but the clam strips are terrible (though I'll admit I only tried them once and they were so bad I don't want to chance it again). It'll do if you want some fried shrimp and don't feel like driving to Troja's, Shrimp Shack or Just...
