I do NOT understand how this restaurant has a 4-something-star. Me and my spouse are half way through our week-long stay; there has been no improvement in the quality of food and some drinks. If a bar is going to charge premium prices for cocktails, use premium liquor. I ordered a Parrot Bay and Coke. At first I thought it was flat coke or something; hence, the bad taste. Well no. I just learned that their coconut rum is some off brand no one knows. Why wasn’t I asked if I wanted a cheap liquor? And, more importantly, why was I charged full price? With that said, the Pina Coladas are actually good. By the way, the bartender conveniently did NOT let us know but, the pool side server did tell us that the restaurant charges an automatic gratuity of 18%. So visitors should watch that.

As far as the restaurant- oh boy!!! I ordered two dinner burgers to go at the bar. The charge was $54 before tax. (Fine and dandy- it’s a resort, we all know we are overpaying.) After I included a $7 tip - now remember, the bartender only took the order, she did not check the order, she did not hand it to me, did not deliver it, etc -my bill was still $76!!! My fault, yes, for not better reviewing the check….did I mention the Pina Coladas??

I would not be leaving a 2-star review had my $76.00 well-done burgers w/ fries NOT been scorched and black; yes, “scorched” is exactly what they were. They had a horrible burned taste to them. I even threw away my patty to eat bread and lettuce. The bread was not good either. it was also black and burned in places. We couldn’t return them — we had ordered them to go.

Staying positive, that next morning we took advantage of the free breakfast meal. It was just okay. The poached eggs were cold when they arrived at the table. But , hey, free meal and it was edible….

The following morning we opted for the Yellowfin Breakfast. We both ordered our eggs over medium, but that didn’t happen. Not only were 3 of the 4 “yellows” hard, the majority of the eggs were crispy crunchy brown. Yet again, “FREEEE” - not going to send them back. But my gosh!!! I have yet to have one decent meal at this place. Remember, if we were paying for this Yellowfin Breakfast it would cost $36 for two people + $4 for 1 coffee + $8 for 1 OJ + tax + 18% gratuity. If it had not been for the $76 scorched burgers, I would think breakfast is just a bust since it’s free. I don’t think so.

My advice if you stay at Ocean’s Edge: enjoy the free breakfast, have a lunch (since it costs less), and gauge if you’re here at the right time of year.

I must say…..the hotel itself is wonderful!!! This review is ONLY for the restaurant.

Yelp shows Yellowfin to have an even higher rating than Google. Again!!!! I don’t understand how!! Perhaps, Ocean’s Edge is having an “off-week” this week. There is no way other reviewers have had the same experience as me...

The 3 star is an average of 5 stars for the absolute amazing food and a 0 star for service including the loud awful patio singer who maybe if he wasn't so loud, his off-key-ness wouldn't have been so bad. There were 5 of us and we started on the patio for a hot minute but couldn't take the loud off-key singer so we bailed and moved inside. It wasn't a busy evening as there were was 1 table of 2ppl outside (hint - get rid of the singer and play nice music!) and maybe 4 tables of ppl inside including us. Our waiter tried to memorize our order which did NOT work. Only 4 of the 5 dinners were brought out and zero mention or apologies for the lack of 1 person's dinner. After at least 15 minutes, the hostess came over inquiring after the missing dinner which was not brought out until the 4 of us had finished our plates. Ugh. Good we didn't wait as our food would have been cold. And then we had tickets to a show so we didn't have time for dessert - boo hoo. Anyways, so we had to get out of there and our waiter insisted he pay for and bring a dessert and demanded we wait which was just stressful - read the table dude! WE HAD TO GO! The dessert was nothing any of us would have chose so everyone had a taste and we had to leave. Yes, something should have been done b/c of the problem, but giving us something no one wanted and asking us to stay when we said we had to go was even more rude and wasteful. And he never did apologize, just smiled and pretended he was doing us a huge favor 'sharing' his favorite dessert. What an awful server - no one is impressed by staff that memorizes orders and its obviously worse when you don't have what it takes. We'll go here again b/c they have amazing quality food but if that server shows up at our table, we'll request someone else or eat at the bar if we have to. We're not dealing with...

We loved Yellowfin Bar & Kitchen so much that we spent there almost 4 hours and were some of the last guests leaving. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by friendly and attentive receptionist who noticed that we were a large party with a child. She immediatelly arranged tables together inside the restaurant so that we could all sit together. The seating here is well spaced out and not overcrowded like in other restaurants. We were greeted by Slovak-born waiteress Janka who took care of us the entire evening without a mistake. The menu isn't extensive and seems rather simple, but they sure make up for it with the quality of food! Since we were a large party, we were able to order half the menu and you can't order a bad meal here. Every dish is fresh, high-quality, delicious and comes with a great presentation. My friends even requested a meal that wasn't on the menu and the restaurant was so nice to fulfill their dietary & culinary desires. This calm ambiance restaurant with beautiful surroundings of the marina and delicious food is an absolute gem in Key West. Highly...

This lunch was just OK and very expensive for what you get, including service.. My wife’s food (Cuban) was good but my shrimp tacos were terrible.. The only flavor I could taste was the pepper from the arugula..so I just ate the 6 shrimp total.. Peña Coladas were great! Service was non existent.. No food recommendations, never even got a refill on water, had to flag down the server for another round of drinks.. Closing out the check.. I just handed the server my CC and said we were ready to close out.. I was shocked to see an $80+ lunch. (I have no problem spending $$ on decent food and service) Silly me, I thought I was leaving $10 tip as an appropriate tip for the lack of service, just to over hear later that evening from another guest that gratuity is included even for a single person.. I was told by a regular guest that the reason gratuity is added was because there is a lot of international travel here.. (terrible excuse) All you have to do is let the table know grat is included! If you did a great job, you will get more on top of the grat!

This is a great option for breakfast/lunch/dinner for hotel guests. The food was great! I had the shrimp tacos which came with a delicious salsa and a side of rice and beans that were seasoned well too. My wife had the chicken sandwich and loved it too. So no complaints on the food, decently priced too for being a hotel restaurant. Yes, gratuity is included, but the service was great so no complaints there either. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars, was the state of the table we sat at. There was old food within the crevices of the table that had clearly been there for a while. This may have been an edge case for the establishment, but for a first-time customer that speaks volumes to the cleanliness of the restaurant. It was a little disappointing to see that at a place with great potential.

The dining experience here is divine! The restaurant seating is spread out and opened both inside and on the patio so you don't at all feel close to others. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. While the food is exquisite and on another level! The coconut chicken is insane, the shrimp pasta was so fresh and had the perfect garlic to shrimp ratio, and the filet mignon cut was some of the thickest and nicest we have seen on the island. Make sure to double check your bill as there are sometimes already added tip included. My assumption is because there are several European clients that frequent the hotel and it is not customary to tip servers in the EU. So it is added already to help mitigate this. Overall wonderful experience.
