D's Original Portland Jerkhouse — Restaurant in Stockbridge

I tried out this restaurant for the first time. I ordered a large curry goat plate with Mac and cheese and white rice. The portion size of the goat was not worth the $17.00, and the Mac and cheese was really dry with a weird aftertaste. I also ordered a large brown stew chicken plate with rice and peas, and cabbage. There wasn’t any gravy with my chicken, it lacked seasoning/flavor, and it was really dry to be dark meat. I really enjoyed the plantains. Unfortunately, we didn’t finish our plates. We need authentic jerk sauce in Henry. I ate large jerk chicken plate. The sides were flavorful...the portions were fine...the chicken although flavorful was American altered jerk. The sauce tasted like a spicy vinegar base barbecue sauce...which frankly is getting on my nerves....so tired of altered instead of from scratch in a restaurant. Omg this is truly authentic Caribbean food. I’ve tried several places and let me just say that they have over exceeded my expectations. I have practically tried everything on their menu and never had a complaint. Let me say by far my favorite is the stew pork because I love pork. The flavors and spices are in every bite. The customer service is like welcomed family. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone that want to enjoy great food and excellent...
