There is an update below This place is NOT FOR TAKING A DATE OR ANYBODY IMPORTANT. ALSO DONT BUY ALCOHOL HERE. This place was super disappointing. Just for reference for the restaurant my Check# was 10650 because last thing I need is a claim that I'm not real. 1. The service is slow. The waitress, to be fair, I could tell she was new because there were several questions she should have known. But she did her best under the circumstance. But for a restaurant that wasn't busy, she needs more practice. Overall it took awhile for the food to arrive. 2. The food was very so-so. The calamari $20 was not good. Too much breading and fried very hard. It almost felt like I was eating an onion ring from BK. The $38 Pan seared salmon was ridiculous. The portion size was good but it wasn't $38 good. The Salmon rigatoni was good though the rigatoni was better than the salmon itself. 3. I AM A BARTENDER and Have been fore more than decade. To put it as nicely as possible: Them drinks are very TRASH. You gonna tell me I paid $16 for a "TOP SHELF" margarita but its made with 1800??? What bar on earth has 1800 as TOP SHELF. More like the Top shelf of a dumpster. Sour mix from a bottle and if it wasn't, my god where did you get the limes from?...Satan? The margarita had NO ICE. Now it is possible to make a margarita with no ice but the drinks needs to be ICE COLD/Almost frozen. I decided to get a mojito. I was given a regular mojito and not a raspberry mojito like I was charged for. When I asked I was told a regular mojito and a raspberry was the same price. The drink itself had NOOOOOO SOOODA WTH? Since when are mojitos made with just the same sour mix as the margarita and no soda or even mint muddled into the drink? Drink were AWFUL I cant stress this enough. Though they did give us the deserts for free after seeing we weren't having a good time, even those were mediocre.
Overall this place, if you compare it to the Italian oven across the street, Italian oven wins. Though its more casual, it least the drinks and food are consistent. Stay away from this place. This was a unpleasant experience. Go to Olive Garden and least the drinks are made right.
EDIT: response to the owner: Just like your food and drinks, your memory is WRONG. Let me explain
You didn't sit to us as we didn't sit at the bar. We never acted like we had a good time and we DID voice our complaint. Why were the desserts voided off the bill? Because yall knew we weren't happy. You didn't take our picture so that wasn't us. Dinah being with yall for 5 months isn't helping your case. The drinks SUCKED. No I don't work for the Italian Oven, but I sure as hell know they are consistent with making their drinks. Again a Mojito with no soda and muddled mint is a beginner mistake. You're telling me you have been making margaritas for 40 years?? GTFOH. Yet you don't know that Grand Marnier is an orange liqueur AKA triple sec?? Let alone how to spell it? Triple sec is a generic term for any orange liqueur, and Grand Marnier is a blend of 49% orange liqueur and 51% cognac. You just proved my point. Y'all need a real bartender. Best Italian in town???? BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA. No sir, you haven't been to Serena Pastificio. Now that's TOP QUALITY Italian. You should try some GOOD Italian food. Nobody said the Salmon wasn't fresh. It was overcooked and dry. The pasta was better than the fish. That's all. As for the portion size, I didn't complain about the portion. It wasn't $30 good. Yall are foul as hell for that technology fee. 8% Tax, 3% Technology fee, 3% Local liquor tax and 15% gratuity = 29% additional to the bill. Most companies that do this are not doing well financially because they cant afford to do business, since they lack customers. I wonder why its lacking...
Read moreresponse to owner: You werent even courteous enough to offer to refund the $15. We received the discount AFTER we had to argue with you. You were extremely rude. Also, the coupon we paid for didn't expire until 12/31/2020. I'm really not concerned with what the others there thought. They didn't see the whole picture so of course their view was warped. I see TONS of reviews on here which show you have a terrible response to your customers. I'm not the only one. No one was rude to your wait staff. We asked for someone in charge several times to your male server and they said "no one was in charge." What kind of nonsense is that? We didn't even deal with the female server. I told several of our experience and apparently you have a reputation for bad service. yikes. edited to add: looks like a TON of people have had bad service from here. guess I should have looked at that first. and the replies from the owner are unsurprisingly rude at times. Let me start by saying the food was pretty good. However the service was absolutely horrible. Our waiter was new, you could tell but the problem was that he had no care or respect for our table. Mistakes are one thing, not being customer friendly is another. We had a Local Flavor that we PAID for and they did not want to honor it. We asked for a manager, lead, etc and the waiter continuously said "there's no one in charge." When they finally got the owner on the phone (after us having to argue with the waiter about it) he did not offer to refund the money we already spent on the LF nor did he offer to extend the expiration date (It was set for 12/31.) Either of those would have been acceptable. We understand corona is hurting businesses. But he wanted to keep our money, period. Owner said if he honored it that he would not be earning any money (which is not true, he'd get the money from the LF PLUS $38 more.) There were no signs saying LF not accepted either. If it were a random coupon that we got for free, it would be different. I would never recommend this place simply because the owner supports unethical behavior and takes your money without anything in return. We werent mean, the only thing we did was repeat the same thing 4x. No cussing. No harmful words. Just asking for someone in charge. The persons voice did raise but in no way even close to yelling. All we wanted was to get our funds back, pay our...
Read moreBare with me as I normally don’t leave reviews but if you want to know about this establishment before spending your money please read. As this was my first experience I can say I’m confidently disappointed after the host payed over $400 for a less than average experience. The atmosphere was pleasant however the service needed some serious work as my table of 8, only 4 people got what they ordered. HUGE servings of food and every single person had to take leftovers home without being able to eat half of the portions on the plate, some may find this appealing but other would find this to be massively overwhelming as I rather pay for quality rather than quantity. The wine was good, but the appetizers all came out about 10 minutes apart and the crab cakes were less than satisfactory as they where not worth $10 per cake at the quality they where. Once the entrees came every single substitution was wrong, instead of roasted potatoes we got mashed potatoes. Instead of a SIDE of Brussels sprouts they gave an entire appetizer share sized and they didn’t even make it out with an entire person’s meal until we were ready to leave. I hand it to them for offering the meal for free to go after realizing their mistake and not up-charging us for the extra food. The head chef or perhaps the manager came out to apologize for being short staffed in the kitchen but it was as if we lived an episode off of “kitchen nightmares” with plates over a foot wide, poor staffing, and less than satisfactory quality of food… I’m not trying to completely bash this establishment but they could take a few pointers in my humble opinion as I rarely leave reviews but this upset my entire table. We didn’t even order the delicious looking cakes they had on display, though the display case itself looked due for a scrub. Ultimately, I don’t believe they deserve the title of “best Italian restaurant in Atlanta” as ordering pizza elsewhere might have done the trick to fill the tummies at a more reliable price, speed, and quality in the comfort of home. I hope this review may help someone decide on whether or not to spend $30 for a pasta dish here. Thank you, and I’m sorry to the establishment as I believe they have great potential and it’s likely this was just a really bad off-night for them. (Pic of leftover amount of food and wrong side...
