I was starving. It was 12:30 at night. I was craving Mexican food. I searched for a time, but alas, nobody was open. But wait! Is that a light at the end of the tunnel??? Is there a restaurant with employees so dedicated that they work nights just to serve hungry people like me? The brave folks at El Forastero answered my call without hesitation.
With my insatiable appetite at the wheel, I drove into the darkest, scariest part of town to the one shining beacon of hope on Wilson Way. The lady took my order over the speaker. The dude in the kitchen skillfully created my masterpiece (a super breakfast burrito). I drove up to the window and obtained the holy Grail of burritos with not just one, but TWO sauces (red and green) for my unsophisticated pallet. I paid the lady at the window my dues and then left with a massive hunk of eggs, bacon, chorizo, potatoes, ham, cheese, etc; all wrapped in the biggest tortilla I'd ever seen. Seriously, this thing was big.
Sure, eating this thing would be a monumental task considering I was driving at the time. Luckily, I let Jesus take the wheel as I used my two hands to grasp this massive roll of goodness. I took one bite and I immediately knew I made the right decision. This burrito was good, really good.
Over the next 20 minutes, I fought a long, hard battle with this burrito as I navigated through traffic. Ultimately, I had to give up as my stomach couldn't possibly fit the whole thing in there. Lucky for me, I put the rest in the fridge and later ate it for breakfast.
So, not only did I satisfy my hunger but I found a place I can go to 24/7 when my hunger gets...
Read moreTo be honest it wasnt my first choice, but it was ok. Viva (super nachos) were the best! It closed & choices left were aldabertos & fostero. I gave adelbertos 2 or 3 tries & hated it everytime so fosteros it was & it really wasnt / isnt bad. I started off trying their chicken tacos on sundays years ago then forgot about the place until viva closed then tried the super nachos there, they are different than vivas but still good, then tried the enchilada plate ( its a no for me, to tomato-based) then tried rolled tacos, theyre not bad, ive also tried a breakfast burrito, it was good, too big for me but good for sharing, the only other thing ive had was coca cola here but id say give it a try! Everyones tastes are different but check out the menu, im sure you will find something that sounds good to you! I hope you enjoy, either way, at least you experienced...
Read moreFor a Mexican fast food place they are pretty good. They have a good variety of meal choices. They're a bit pricey, so be prepared to bust out your wallet. But it's worth the money. I frequently eat here and have only ever had one meal that wasn't on par with the consistency of their meal prep. Only problem was, it was a bit too spicy for my liking. But honestly usually they hit the nail on the head almost every time. Everyone has their off day I suppose?... I always recommend this place to out of town friends coming through town and wanting a good, quick bite to eat. They also have two locations one on Wilson Way near Yum yum doughnuts, the other is on Hammer lane next to IHOP. Open 24 hours for your late night cravings as well. Hope you enjoy as...
