Maharaja Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Stockton

March.20, 2025 (Update review) This is updated from the last one. I went there to eat lunch buffet (give it another try). I got there around 12pm. Saw the owner behind the counter and told him that I am going to look at the food first. I saw one table with 3 people dining for lunch buffet. I saw goat curry (which I like and I did called before I get there to make sure it's goat curry lunch buffet today around 10:50am). The server came out from kitchen (he was extremely nice guy) , I told him that I would like to have lunch buffet and sit down at one of the empty table. I started enjoying goat curry and other foods (I did grab whatever left in that goat curry but not that much.). After 10mins or so, the owner came out from the kitchen with goat curry to refill. I went for second time and it's empty. So I did asked the server and he yelled at the cook in the kitchen to make more goat curry. 15 mins later, no goat curry. So I did asked the server "Is goat curry coming out?" He said "Sorry, we are out of goat curry." I said "What?" Then the owner brought the check to my table indicated to pay and leave. So I went to get some spring rolls because I am still hungry. About 5 mins later 3 people came into restaurant and two of them are Indians or Pakistani. They sat down at empty table and they went to look at dishes and most of them are empty and not going to refill like goat curry, butter chicken, grill chicken. They asked for menu and saw the price are very high. About 3-5 mins later, the server brought out something and fill it in the one of the tray. Then the server came up to me and whispered to me "There some more goat curry." I said to myself "Didn't you just told me about 10mins ago that "Sorry. No more goat curry?" I was so upset. This is like a racist. So I went up to get the rest of goat curry before I pay for my lunch buffet. I went to the counter to pay, the owner came to the cashier to collect my pay. Right after I paid the owner said " Next time you come, you order Goat curry aside." I said "Why? Isn't this lunch Buffet? Why do I have to order and pay more besides lunch buffet?" I was going to say that what he did is so racist. But I don't want to make a big scene. Anyway after the server put more goat curry out and 3 mins later the server put some goat curry in a bowl for himself to eat for his lunch too. If I do that to anyone (including the owner) I am 110% sure I will get a lawsuit for being discrimination. I want to give negative 5 stars but there's not. So I am still giving 1 star and not going back to that restaurant for eternity for being discrimination. I would like the community to boycott that kind of business owner to teach lessons that what he did is not acceptable. How would anyone of you feel if you are iny position and being treated like this (Discriminated)? I give 5 stars for the server even though he's afraid and had to do what his boss said because of don't want to loose his job. This is what happened to me and not intentionally to hurt...

I recommend Maharaja Indian Cuisine, excellent staff, excellent owner, excellent atmosphere inside the restaurant. I also enjoyed how tidy and cleaning the bathrooms, the utensils, plates, tablecloths, tables, and chairs. The Indian food is very delicious, I loved the buffet and I recommend it, the price is affordable, the food is very prepared and clean with nothing to complain about. I invite all the other people, you are one of the people who has never tasted Indian gastronomy, come in person and witness the restaurant in perfect condition, the bathroom very clean, the work staff very friendly, helpful and without Without a doubt, the food is tasty, delicious, the meat is soft, the rice is also soft and delicious, the salad is fresh, organic, very green and in perfect condition. I’ve done Take out only order ahead because it does take time. I’ve tried plenty of the menu and would recommend. 7/18/22 of this year I used Postmates for pick up. Immediately after submitting my order I got a confirmation text it was being prepared. The next minute it said it was ready for pick up. I went came home ate. This was the only food I had ate all day. An hour hour and a half later I experienced sever symptoms of food poisoning. My doctor even diagnosed with food poisoning. Notified Postmates for a refund.
