Prime Table Steak House — Restaurant in Stockton

I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this place. I went in unexpectedly last night and ordered a Knob Creek Old Fashioned. The bar is on point and knows how to make a great drink.

The servers were tremendous and incredibly focused on a good customer experience. However, I was tremendously disappointed with what is their go to item ... Steak.

I ordered a wedge salad (delicious), ribeye (medium rare), green beans (delicious), and mascarpone mashed potatoes.

The ribeye was was incredibly fatty and over salted. Aside from the salt, there wasn't much flavor to it. Ribeye should have good day and marbling, but this had a ton of fat. The mascarpone mashed potatoes were good, but nothing spectacular.

A buddy of mine ordered the filet mignon. As we chatted before driving our separate ways, he mentioned how underwhelmed he was with his filet. He also said that his Mac and cheese was not very good, but didn't describe it any further.

I have been very excited to try this place. Stockton needs a great steak house. For all the hype and recommendations to go there, as a steak house, they fell very flat. I have been to numerous nice steak houses and Prime Table just isn't there.

I had planned on doing something special soon at this restaurant but now I need to find a different establishment. After hearing of the treatment of rapper Mac Mall by your staff & management. A well known international recording artist but also a Bay Area and California raised, dearly loved artist.. To be treated with such disrespect in the City he lives in, in a restaurant/bar that he frequents on a regular basis. That he had done posts and live feed in that was in actuality free advertising for your restaurant. I was excited to do his surprise there for him.. Not anymore!! I’m just blown away by the treatment of your patrons by your staff and to still not even reach out to his management etc.. To make some type of apology or amends is just disgraceful & shows that your establishment could care less about customer service or word of mouth. I definitely wouldn’t suggest this restaurant to anyone, they are obviously so unorganized they will mix up reservations and refuse to make it right to the person they give your seat to. My sisters are avid steak eaters, and we really enjoyed the steak here. We got the ribeye, medium- with creamed spinach and fries. Steak came out perfect, tender, and juicy.

Shrimp scampi- I really enjoyed this dish, too. Tangy, I thought flavor was good, but my sisters found it a little too salty. Side commentary- Is it just me, or is this size shrimp a little tough and hard to chew and swallow?

Prime rib dip - interesting, there was no wow factor, under seasoned(?), lacking seasoning(?). Meat was soft, bun was soft. I didn't hate it but it was just really meh. Even the dip. I'm not sure how that enhances or supports the dish.

Cesar salad- nice even coating of dressing. Anchovies on the side for me. I've never had anchovies on my Cesar salad. Super fun.

Burrata- we really enjoyed the burrata and tomatoes. It's so easy to eat, the tomatoes were sweet and simple. Loved the hint of pesto. I kept telling my sisters that it tasted so basic, but in the best way, ya know.
