I've been going to this place for 30+ years and the pizza is still great - and the same guy is still there who's been making it every day for all those years - so no wonder it's so good. It's thinner crust and nicely browned, and very crispy/tasty. They only serve pizza & salads (I wish they still made subs but they stopped that several years ago). You can dine in if you want - nothing fancy but cute - and they only take cash, but there's an atm there. No alcohol of course. The place is super popular but you never have to wait too long - best is to call in the order and you can usually pick it up within about 20 min. We had heard of Mack’s before we went to Avalon and were looking forward to trying it, especially our kids. When we got there, they were unexpectedly closed to the public because they were about to host a wedding reception. When they saw our kids were disappointed they graciously made a spot for us in the restaurant despite being super busy prepping for the reception that was due to begin in less than an hour. This made our kids day! The cook gave our kids some pizza dough to play with. The staff were super nice and served us quickly. On top of all this the pizza and the Caesar salad were awesome.

Would highly recommend and we will be back every time we are in Avalon.

We chose Mack's on the fly before heading back home and was pleasantly surprised! I appreciated that the restaurant was so laid back! It is a "Seat Yourself" establishment. There were 6 of us and we found seats quickly. The sodas are self serve and include free refills for the larger size. All the menu items priced include sales tax. They do offer pizza by the slice. On the money scale I'd say it's $$-$$$ The prices are reasonable and the service is fast! The six of us (2 adults and 4 teenagers) opted for 3 of the "My Pie" pizzas.
