Recently moved to the area and was looking for a great Chinese food experience. Unfortunately, this was not it. The building is nice and newly renovated but frankly I should have known something was amiss when a Caucasian woman took my order and there were African Americans cooking in the back. Not a good sign when looking for somewhat authentic Chinese cuisine. Still, I placed my order and kept my hopes up. But they were shot down the moment I opened up my box of rice to realize that it was nothing more than white rice with some soy sauce thrown on top and reheated. The rice was dry and bland without an egg or vegetable in sight. The sweet and sour chicken I ordered was dry and parts were overly crunchy with breading. Some pieces I had to spit out due to the gristle I found in the middle. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the General Tso's my brother ordered was ok. But this may just be because it was drenched in a sweet sauce. However, it was supposed to be spicy. I dont like spicy food and consider myself to have a gentle palate. But even to me, this was not even remotely spicy. I imagine someone who loves spice in their food would be extremely disappointed by this. All in all, it was a poor experience and I...

It was my mother's birthday and she wanted to eat from chou lee's restaurant. Usually the food is on point for taste, flavor, and overall appearance. Yesterday I ordered food for over $100 worth and what we got was on a scale from 1-10 I would say a 3. I called the restaurant to report that I was unsatisfied with the food and I was told to bring back the remainder of what was not eaten( they thought I did not have it). I had all food together as bought. The front manager(white man)called out to the back of the house manager and said that person is here with the food. She just came to the front and took the bag from me with no response or apology. She took the bag to the boss lady and no one said nothing to me just standing their. I eventually took a sit until 15 minutes later after pretending to give me a new batch of food, the cashier said mam your food is ready. The boss lady was sitting in the front, the front of the house manager was next to her, still no one said another word to me. I am disappointed in the restaurant, even the so called fresh food was still no more than a 5 on a 10 scale. I will spend my money elsewhere. 99 percent of their customers are black people but they show us no respect for carrying...

The previous ratings on this place were accurate but are no longer accurate in my opinion. it appears that a new ownership group is managing this place now. its changed from Entree Style dining to greasy spoon dining with stereotypical bad Chinese food. I had been eating there since 2008 under the old ownership group. Took a Co-Worker who was from California and she indicated this is the same type of Chinese Cuisine she was getting in LA. It was that good. I had not eaten there since 2021 since I moved out of the area. I was shocked that the food quality had gone down so drastically. Then it was confirmed to me-this place is under new management. Its just take out now and bad takeout as that. the pervious ownership group made it a destination place for dining say on a Friday night with your family. My advice to the new management group? this restaurant in Dekalb county had an excellent reputation for great food and being a place you can take your family out to eat a great meal on a weekend. PLEASE RESTORE THE DINING EXPERIENCE TO WHAT I JUST STATED. Chou Lee's was an asset to our community but it seems that you are just trying to turn it into just regular old...

Me and my family has been eating at Chow Lee over 16 years, and within the past year I had to take my food back to get it done over. I only eat pork fried rice, my family eats other dishes needless to say we always spend $65 and more. The pork fried rice never have enough meat if any at all, you may see 2 to 3 pieces on top but after that nothing. Chow Lee goes up on her prices every year and her customers have to take a hike in what we pay, by the way having black faces in the front at the register, doesn’t make it OK you’re still robbing our neighborhood blind, your charging high prices but skimping on the food. Basically my pork fried rice is basically plan fried rice what you’re doing is bad practice then you’re in our neighborhood doing this nonsense. The picture that you see below is pork fried rice that I ordered, but it looks like plain fried rice. It had maybe about four pieces of meat in there, and that was it and the meat that I was eating was basically fat. This was my last time going there the food that is served is not matching up with your prices but of course, you know that already at least your cooks do.

It was a nice environment, they had 3 ppl working but the white cashier kept staring at me which made me uncomfortable as if he were judging. Haven’t had Chinese in a couple years and I was doubtful at first. The fortune cookies were really delicious. I’d go back just for them. I asked her to put very light ice in my tea/lemonade but it felt like a full cup of ice but I’ll let that pass because even with the ice, the drink was very sweet but also delicious. I wasn’t too fond of the egg roll. It tasted like sauerkraut, disgusting in my opinion but the lomein and general tso chicken was very good. I finished all the lomein but there were about 6 pieces of chicken I didn’t finish as in they gave me a very good portion for what I paid. I don’t think I’d go back that often because I don’t eat Chinese that much but I’d definitely recommend the place to others ✊🏾💯

Chou Lee's was given a 2, only because of the staff. They were awesome. I purchased the "House noodle soup". It took about 30mins to receive my food, and it was $9 (lunch special),so I thought that it was going to be very delicious and freshly made! The soup tasted like those cheap cans of chicken noodle soup. The noodles were the cheap kind that swell up real fast. The stuff (meat?) you see on top is suppose to be beef flank? It's some soft form of meat. I live 5 mins away, depending on lights and traffic. I usually don't eat on this side of town because of this right here. This is THE worst recipe for house noodle soup. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by "getting what you pay for"..... this wasn't it. I WILL try them again, only because of reviews and employees. I will get a solid dish next time.
