I'm done.
It hurts and it's sad for me to say that as a long-time Patron of Church's, I'm done! They're on my list along with Domino's now. What happened to GOOD customer service?
Yesterday (3/31/2025 7:12 PM), I ordered 10pc Legs & Thighs (Spicy), 2 Large Mashed Potatoes, and redeemed my points for a FREE 22oz Drink (Coke) -=- THE DELIVERY FEE IS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE -=-
Close to 8PM, got everything but 1 of the Mashed Potatoes and no drink (either the driver kept it or they simply forgot it).
Called the same night and was surprised somebody picked up the phone. Told them the issue, said they would take care of it if I came TO THEM, over a delivery order. Why would you want a customer who ordered delivery to burn more $ to come to you? I agreed to come because the GM Gloria did say to me THIS morning of April 1st, that she'd give me some more stuff as well.
Y'all...Uber ride was $14 to get there. I get there, she's gone, they give me a 2pc combo, cash back $7 refund for the Delivery Fee, the missing Large Mashed Potatoes. Props to that older gentleman working the front because he muttered "She changed her mind" at me, thinking I didn't hear him, but I did. Uber ride back: $16. Spending $30 just to get a 2pc combo. Rather than get an attitude/show out/make all Black Men look angry and aggressive and unintelligent, I just left. I called back and managed to speak to her to ask her what happened to what she promised over the phone, she said she agreed to just replace what I didn't get and assumed I was "satisfied" with that old chicken from yesterday. Regardless, how about taking care of me, the customer, solely for the inconvenience of having to burn money to travel there? Before she slammed the phone and hung up, SHE WAS STILL TALKING ISH! Does every Church's Chicken have one of these types of employees working in them? Been seeing this repetitive behavior constantly at them, it's sad!
Yo, Church's, our relationship is done.
The oldest Church's I used to go to is closed up and gone and used to be on Candler Rd., back then, they had a Zesto's restaurant behind them. I'm no stranger to Church's; there were times my family and I would wait LONG periods of time to get our food, and sometimes, hit or miss or either we get everything, or we got someone else's order, etc., but we never left that drive-thru before checking the bags, and when they screwed up, they would go the mile and give something for the inconvenience, not sass and attitude. Here's something extra for the inconvenience, you know? I miss THOSE types...
Read moreThe uploaded pictures are of order 3 and order 1, respectively, made online on the merchant's website. The orders were fulfilled via doordash. The paper bag for order one looked unsecured, having only one sticker and staples on both sides of the handles. The paper bag of the second order had two stickers, staples on both sides of the handles, and the food was satisfactorily hot! The first online order arrived lukewarm, but the sides were hot and fresh. The spicy chicken looked reheated and was old. The biscuits were acceptable but not hot. This 8-piece spicy chicken looked NOTHING like a church's advertisement. The first order included a free 2-piece chicken with a charge for the biscuit and a jalapeño pepper. The chicken thigh of the 2-piece was partially undercooked. I reported this order both online and on the phone to the corporate office of church's chicken. Nothing was done to perfect this issue. Order 3 was made March 31, 2025, during a free delivery promotion, but we were charged a delivery fee. The spicy chicken had feathers, were underseasoned, lukewarm, and old. I think fish was cooked in the same oil as this chicken. The biscuits of this order were different in texture but were acceptable in taste and texture, but nothing like the original church's chicken quality. The 10-piece spicy chicken came with two large sides and biscuits with a free regular-sized drink. The drink and one family side were not delivered. The order was reported to the general manager, Gloria, but she didn't do right to address the major inconvenience of having our dinner shortened. Why come to this store to address YOUR WRONG for a delivery order. At the store, the delivery fee was refunded in cash and paired with the missing two ordered items and a free 2-piece meal. The mashed potatoes and gravy were less in both quantity and quality. For years, my family and I have enjoyed church chicken, but this right here is a fraud of what was once a decent business. Before the online orders, never did I pluck a feather from my chicken or felt cheated in my food. This was our last order from here! I recommend nothing from here because the quality of the food and of the service aren't good! Look at the other low...
Read moreAfter a long day of teaching, I was not in the mood to cook. Since I was already in the area shopping at Lidl, I decided to grab some dinner at Church's Texas Chicken. It has been so long since I went to Church's that I had forgotten what the food tasted like!
Before I start talking about the food, let's talk about customer service. When I walked in there, there was no one manning the register because they were busy packing the food for other customers. However, I barely got to the counter, and less than a minute later I received immediate customer care! A young lady by the name of Shalisiona, took my order. She was fast, efficient, and had a good attitude. The best part was she gave me fresh chicken! I told her because she gave great customer service, I would leave a good review! Well done, Shalisiona! As a teacher, I will give you an A+.
Now let's talk about the food. Whoever was on cooking duty today, on Wednesday, August 7th, you deserve an applause! Our chicken was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside! The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy with a hint of sweetness. I didn't eat any mashed potatoes and gravy, but my son said it was good. As for the biscuits, they were the best ones I've had in a long time! When you bit into it, it was surprisingly crunchy on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside. The light dusting of honey on top was just the right amount. I love that the biscuit was not dense or taste heavy! If biscuit making was part of the Olympics, y'all deserve a gold medal!
Go try out the Church's Texas chicken on Covington Highway in Lithonia. The food/meal might not be as big as Texas in terms of size, but the taste sure was worth the stop. Just remember, my review is based on...
