Fun place to take the kids. There is a play ground area for them. The parking lot is located at the community center that has lots of amenities such as an indoor basketball court, indoor pool, fitness equipment, lockers and showers. The "beach" itself is a small area, the sand is not ideal for castles because the consistency is more like mud. The water is very rocky so precaution needs to be taken when walking in the water, water shoes are ideal. There are bigger rocks as well and the water is a bit murky so can be hard to be seen.

The beach is rocky (lots of pebbles as you approach the water) and it's not beautiful, in the way you want a beach to be. Having said that, it's a perfect, local beach to bring the kids if you live close. It was in walking distance from where we were staying - so it was awesome to walk to instead of driving to other beaches. Other positives: there is a playground right there, a baseball field and a YMCA (if you're a member). So, bring the family, get a workout and swim in and then hit the playground.

Perfect place for young kids. I took my kids here last week and they were so happy and already swimming in May. The water was so warm. They have a park and playground here as well, and a port a potty near by just in case! Close parking. Not sure how crowded it gets in the summer but we had a blast playing in the sand and catching sea snails. Bring water shoes though because the rocks can be tough on the little guys feet!

Perfect place for young kids. I took my kids here last week and they were so happy and already swimming in May. The water was so warm. They have a park and playground here as well, and a port a potty near by just in case! Close parking. Not sure how crowded it gets in the summer but we had a blast playing in the sand and catching sea snails. Bring water shoes though because the rocks can be tough on the little guys feet!

My boyfriend, daughter and her boyfriend were visiting Mystic Aquarium and wanted to find a beach to visit afterward. We looked on our phone's GPS and this one was the closest. I gave it 3 stars because it was a very small beach with dark, murky water that was mostly roped off and there are no facilities here. It is mostly used by locals who have changed before they got there. The YMCA on site was accommodating but they were breaking the rules by letting me and my daughter in to change into our bathing suits. If we were members, I'm sure I would've been able to use the facilities without an issue. Also, people on small watercraft are able to pull up on shore there. Not many people were actually in the water so I'm not sure whether this place is actually used for swimming, except for the roped off areas where the Y has swimming lessons. One of the locals did come up and ask my boyfriend a lot of questions about how we found this place so expect that if you decide to visit. All in all, it was okay for a dip but in my opinion, we should've looked a little harder to find a...

Nice town beach. Came to to have my kids play in the sand a bit and play at the beach playground. We also stuck around to watch the sunset which was very nice. It was after hours in the evening. People were still swimming in the water. It didnt look clean but the water was warm for sure. It was more of a lake than an actual beach. We didnt go in the water. We just sat on the beach a bit, then took my kids to the playground next door. Then after the sunset went down we left. Nice parking lot, nice area....
