I was dining with a group. We were seated quickly and the waitress got all of the drink orders. After the drink orders were delivered she brought everyone straws. She took the time to get all of the orders and find out how the checks would be divided. Our salads or bread options came out early. Up to this point I was impressed.
Meals come out and my 6 oz. steak was overcooked. I had ordered medium rare. What I got was well done. The waitress said she would be right back with my order. Ten minutes later, she returned. It was well done again. By this point, everyone was finishing their meals. Fifteen minutes later the manager showed up with a medium well cooked steak. I accepted it, because by this point I was hungry. He said the steak was cooked to temperature. The problem with cooked to temperature meat is it needs to be delivered shortly after it's plated because it continues to cook on the plate as it sits. Especially when placed in a food window that is heated. Medium rare has a short cook time. It should have been delivered within five minutes, depending on the temperature of the grill. I was a head cook for fifteen years. So, I have extensive experience in this field.
The real insult was the manager said he would discount the cost to part of the meal. Not halved or removed, but knock off a small portion of the cost. I sat for a combined 25 minutes after the rest of the table had been served waiting for a five minute steak to be cooked and delivered on a not too busy day.
As long as you order something that doesn't require a specific cook to it, you should be fine. But if you are looking for anything other than well done on steaks or burgers, I would suggest going to a steak chain instead...
Read moreThe worst experience in the world on Thanksgiving Day. People were waiting in line for theit curbside orders, of course, placed ahead of time. When you order curbside your meal is supposed to be ready when you get there, right? Nope. You are supposed to call the police when you get there. I called and no one answered the phone so the message on the phone recommended I contact Bob evans.com. I thought oh no what is going wrong now? So, I went up to the building. I get there and they tell us it's a three to four hour wait after I ordered my food hours before. They let people stand out in the cold and locked their doors! The hostess lied to people and did not tell them it would be a three to four hour wait for the order that they already put online. She sent them back to their vehicles thinking they would get their food promptly. I will never go back there and Bob Evans owes all their customers a huge apology and some money for this. I never did get my dinner. I've never experienced anything like this before in my life! They should be ashamed of themselves. I have never seen such poor Management in my entire lifetime. And, that says a lot. No turkey dinner for me! And, on top of that, they never refunded any money. They said it would be a 7 to 10 day turn around for my credit card to be credited. How did they even know I never even...
Read moreMost of the employees there are very nice but unfortunately a few are incredibly rude and have no idea how to treat customers. I recently picked up a to go order bag with soup in it and when I got out to my car the bag suddenly started pouring soup all over my pants, shirt and car seat. I brought the bag back into the restaurant and nicely informed an employee of what happened and she didn't offer any apology or offer to compensate me in any way. She just grabbed the bag and walked away. She came back to where I was standing and still didn't say anything to me but just acted like I wasn't there. I asked to see a manager and the manager still didn't offer any apology and said she couldn't do anything to make it up to me. If they would have at least acted apologetic or shown any concern at all I likely would have just gotten over it but instead they treated me like I was just an annoyance. I've had many customer service jobs and I know that's not how you treat people if you want them to continue being a customer. I won't be eating there again...
