YOU MOST CERTAINLY WILL BE DISSAPPOINTED! The worst Italian Restaurant I've ever ate at!!! I got a stromboli, very bland, tasted like nothing and they charge a $1.00 for each item you add that on a normal Steak and cheese Stromboli (onions, peppers, mushrooms). The sauce or marinara tasted and looked watered down and 1 container had about a teaspoon in it the other 3/4 full. I asked for no Red cabbage or olives in my salad - of course they were on it!! And the receipt says add, the menu already list these items as being on the salad- I WANTED THEM REMOVED! Plus beware if you pay with a card they add a percentage to each item you buy: Bottle Beer MENU PRICE $4.99, ACTUAL PRICE $5.16 before TAX Stromboli MP $11.99, AP $12.41 before TAX House Salad MP$5.99, AP$6.20. before TAX VERY SKETCHY, when I asked about it, the " Manager" just walked away. Then the young boy working there reaches up and opens a piece of paper that had folded in on itself that reads something about their charges pics below!!

I visited this restaurant with no expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised. The theming of the decor was executed quite well, as long as you didn't look up or move. The roof has lights that fade in and out around it's perimeter, and they just don't fit and are quite distracting. The floor is stone (like a street or sidewalk) and while looking nice is uneven and does not work well with the chairs. The service was great, very polite and attentive. The food itself was good but not great. The sandwich was well made, but the ingredients didn't quite meld together. The pizza was good, but way to greasy and the crust was a little too thin. However, whatever bread they use is phonomenal. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be staying in the area.

I’ve had Castiglias before at this location as well as Front Royal. Their food has always been great. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I asked for extra sauce in the comments and they definitely gave me plenty. Tons of food for $14.99 plus a tip. $20 for all this food…you can’t beat it in today’s economy. Enough for 3 meals of spaghetti for me. It was ready when promised and the young lady at the front desk was very friendly. I know it is hard to find good employees nowadays, but my only suggestion is having more than one person up at the register during dinner rush and other busy times like weekends. She was juggling a lot.

We visited on our way back from Fort Valley for dinner. The ratings online made this seem appealing. There were prior reviews that the bottoms of the tables were falling apart. The one we sat at didn't have this issue, and the interior generally seemed newer.

Regarding setting, there are no booths, which isn't a problem, but if you want one, you won't find it. There is outdoor seating and a fountain, and it looked pleasant enough, but we didn't sit outside.

Our waitress was curt in her responses. For example, when asked if we could get some straws, the response was, " it's in with the utensils," and was said as she was walking away from us.

We ordered garlic knots as an appetizer and ordered 3 entrees (spinach manicotti, chicken Parmigiano (both of the former coming with salads), and kids tortellini with Alfredo sauce) when the waitress came back with our drinks.

When we were there, the restaurant was mostly empty, with a few tables (approximately 4) already seating and having food delivered in various states (appetizers, entrees, etc. ). They were certainly not busy by any stretch.

Our food came out in the following order: salads, followed about 3 minutes later with the appetizer, which was followed with our entrees about 2-3 minutes after that. When this happens, it is usually a failure of the waitress putting in all of the food at the same time or in the wrong order. Sometimes, the cooks will catch this, but it is really incident specific.

Anyways, our salads came out on warm plates, which is unappetizing, and caused the lettuce to wilt on the bottom. The salads were also brought without dressing, which was brought about a minute later in squeeze bottles. One was cold, and the other was room temperature. I'm hoping this means they just filled it, but it was not appealing. The salad itself was okay. It appeared to be a mixed bag you'd get from the grocery store and had a single cucumber and slice of tomato with a fairly large portion of sliced olives on top. It was okay.

The garlic knots were pretty good, and the sauce was better than average. I don't think it was homemade, but it was definitely not the bottom of the barrel tomato sauce.

The entrees were hit or miss. My chicken Parmigiano was deep-fried pre-made cutlets but had good seasoning on them and had the same sauce served with the garlic knots. The noodles could have been drained a bit more, but they did at least mix the noodles with the sauce before plating. I'd rate this as slightly above average chicken Parmigiano. It's not homemade, but it wasn't bad, and it came with 3 fairly good-sized cutlets. You could definitely get 2 possibly 3 meals off it or share it with someone else.

The spinach manicotti was nothing to write home about and wasn't that great. Again, I don't think they make this from scratch, and I wouldn't recommend it. It was a good portion size, though.

The kids' tortellini was okay. Most pre-made tortellini are basically on the same level. The Alfredo wasn't made from scratch , but it wasn't terrible. I believe that they added garlic to it, which was a nice pick me up as most pre-made alfredo sauce is pretty bland.

We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert, and it came with orange slices, strawberries, and chocolate cake with drizzled chocolate sauce on it. It was okay. Our son liked it.

Overall, I'd rate the food slightly less than average. They execute some things well and some things poorly. I would have given a higher score for cold salad, so it was crisp and cold dressing. Im sure some of the other food is average for Italian restaurants.

Where they struggled was service, which was well below average. All the food basically came out together, which means you can't sit, talk, and enjoy your meal, and it is the fastest way to ruin a meal. The server acted like she didn't want to be there or wanted to be bothered too much. She did keep the drinks full, which is about the only positive thing I could note of the experience.

The atmosphere is nice and the music wasn't too loud.

We don't plan...

This might be a little long but it's an experience I really want to share on how great this place is. If I ever write a review on a restaurant, I typically only care about the food but I really want to talk about how the staff treated me. I went there on 6/29 (just in case the managers get this message)

I'll start off with the food. I ordered the SMALL steak Stromboli for $9 and some change, and what I got was something as big as a six month old baby. It was insane. Although the quantity was just huge, the quality was even better. The steak was shredded evenly which cooked it perfectly. It wasn't dried out like other places and it was just a fantastic dish. It was clear that they took time in preparation, which made the dish feel fresh.

But now I want to state why Im even writing this review, the customer service. When I arrived I was feeling a little sick and I wasn't able to eat much. The waiter took notice and was able to pack it up for me to go. She asked how many sauce cups Id like and prepared them for me. I must've left them on the table by accident. I'm unsure about this next part but some how they found out I was staying in the Fairfield inn right next door (either they saw me walk that way I'm guessing). I paid by credit card so they had my name. They called the hotel and asked if I was staying there, and the hotel confirmed. They sent over a pizza delivery guy to my room to drop off the sauce I left!!! To me I didn't even care that I left it, it was just the gesture. They could've easily blown it off, I would've forgotten and it'd be the end of it. They took the extra step which is why I'd recommend them.

It saddens me that I'm not a local and can't support them by coming back again, but this is the least I can do. Thanks for the...
