Saw how great the reviews were. Was so excited to try out the restaurant since we are from the coast and missing fresh seafood. We were greeted and the atmosphere was great. We decided to sit outside since we had our littles with us. The hostess and waitress were both lovely. We put in our drink order and went ahead and ordered an appetizer. We got our drinks and sat for a little while which wasn’t a big deal. She came back to take our food order. Another table came in and sat behind us. They got their drinks and ordered an appetizer. While we were still waiting they got theirs before us. Kids started getting hangry at this point it’s going for 7 o’clock I myself am getting hangry. Not once during our time there did we get refills on our drinks. The table behind us started getting their food, about 5-10 minutes after they got their food my 2 younger kids luckily got their food first. Then my son and husband. I had ordered crab legs. When I was finally given my food I started to dig in. Ate my first single leg, was ok and had ok flavor. Went to get my second one and the meat at the top was cold and felt kind frozen. I let the waiter know there was an issue with them. The chef comes out and has the audacity to tell me they are cooked to temp in front of everyone being extremely rude, I informed him I’ve had crab legs all my life and I’ve never been served cold/frozen crab legs. He offered to heat them up or give me new. I declined if he couldn’t get it right the first time I wasn’t sticking around to wait even longer and hope he got it done the second time. My husband ended up sharing half his fat Maggie burger it was ok plane Jane burger with a crab cake on it. Finally got the bill. Kids eat free but when we got the bill we had been charged for it, still had my food on the bill and the appetizer that we never got was on there as well. They definitely lacked the understanding that we had sat there so long without being checked on. Other people were getting food with no issues who had showed up after us and we had already put in our food order well before them we didn’t get anything crazy. The owner was tasteless and we definitely wouldn’t recommend wasting your money. If you’re craving seafood please do your self a favor and go to Talk of the mountain seafood in front royal! It was a slice of heaven like we had a piece of home here the food is great, the staff is friendly and amazing. It’s not over priced like crabby Maggie’s and you get a good portion. No issues with under cooked food and the taste is mouth watering they definitely know what their doing with seasoning...
Read moreI asked if they had Caesar dressing and the server said yes. I ordered the salad topped with salmon with Caesar dressing. They apparently did not have Caesar dressing, but she did not come out and ask me if I still wanted the salad and if so, what dressing did I want instead.
She waited until she brought the food out, then said they were out of Caesar dressing, and asked what would I like instead. I told her I don’t like any other dressing. (I never order a salad unless a restaurant has Caesar dressing.) She was willing to let me change my order to a salmon meal, which comes with two sides, but that was a lot more food than I wanted. So I said I’ll just eat the salmon, but I don’t expect to be charged for the salad part of it because I can’t/won’t eat it without the dressing I ordered. I don’t remember what she said, but my husband and I both got the impression she agreed.
Another server stop by later to see if everything was OK and I explained what happened. I was upset about it, and she told us that a lot of customers had suggested they should offer Caesar dressing; this told me it was something they didn’t ever serve, not something they were “out of.”
Yet another server brought the bill. I explained again, and when I objected to paying the full price of the salad, she said the piece of salmon alone or a salmon-topped salad were the same price. (Really?)
All of this could’ve been solved if they had immediately told me they didn’t have the dressing and I would’ve ordered something totally different off the menu (like a bowl of clam chowder.)
Great salmon,...
Read moreEDIT: Sept 2025. Wife and I ate lunch here today. Great service by Maggie and I loved the Fish and Chips. Still a great place to visit.....................ORIGINAL: Wish I could do 4 1/2 stars as I would. More on the reason for the half star in a minute. Wife and I finally made it here today for her birthday. We were warmly greeted by the owner and she was very friendly. This place in an old house that was fixed up nicely inside. Not huge at all and many can seat a max of maybe 16-20 people. They serve drinks from a cooler and the bottled water is free. Which is genius in my opinion. Wife ordered King or Snow crab legs, not sure which as I don't eat crab, and the wife was more than happy and she thought the price was very fair. She thought these were the best she had eaten in years. I ordered the Fish and Chips with cole slaw and hush puppies. HP were good but the slaw was very good. Good sweet southern taste. The fish was the reason for a loss of a star although we can't do half stars. The fish was good and the coating was even good but thicker than what I like to see. I like a lighter crispy coating then what these had. But the price was good on this meal. We also added a 1/2 LB of steamed spiced shrimp which were likely the best I have seen in a long long time. We have every intention of...
