A Slice Above — Restaurant in Strongsville

So I’ve been coming here for years, ordering a small pizza - individual size. I live basically down the street from this place and have met the owner Don several times. I usually ordered the personal or individual size but today I decide to upgrade to a medium and use their new app. I was so disappointed with my pizza which was terrible that I decided to call to see if maybe the place was under new management as I said I never had a bad pizza prior. The pizza I had was so bad I had to throw it out! The outer third of the pizza edges of it were burnt and the pepperoni was dry and crispy and it was very very thin. The toppings were also very poor on it. I spoke to somebody who identified himself as a manager, and when I started complaining about the pizza he Became very defensive - saying he made the pizza himself and that the way he made it is perfect and that other customers who ordered the exact same pizza as mine that moment (had to believe there would be : other customers who ordered the exact same pizza at the same time) had no complaints and then proceeded to hang up the phone on me. What a poor business model to have this manager in place dealing with customers, he needs definite training on how to handle the public. I will not be back! I Just Had to change me thought on this place. I ordered from here tonight. First the driver took a long time to get to my house. He said he didn't hear his GPS and was on a wrong road a long time. I had no problem with that. He gave me my pizza and then he had me sign the receipt. As he was turning to.leave I asked where my six pack of coke was. He said he was sorry and would be right back with it. Two innings of the tribe game gone and the driver returns with a 2litre of coke. I call for the second time and I was told that they would not send the driver back to my house to make my order right. I talked with a supervisor and finally was told the same thing. I will find out the contact information for the owner of this establishment and I will have a heart to heart with him about PR and the way his people, the faces and the voices of A slice above treated me. I'd say at the least this so called supervisor, Jake, should be fired from his position. .. Slice above has got to be the best pizza around. The sauce is good and they do not skimp on the toppings. Pound for pound, and the pizzas are heavy, this is the best pizza for your money. I plan on visiting A slice above very many times..... I will never eat Papa John's pizza again....... Thank you...

5/11/24 After reading many reviews and looking through the pics online, I decided to give A Slice Above a shot. The pizza I received was a large honey bee pizza with regular crust. I opened the box and full strips of crispy bacon greeted my gaze. It has ham slices and what seems like a cheese sauce with hints of honey that are just perfect for this pie. The honey gives a subtle sweetness that does go with the ham and bacon. The crust was light and not tough or chewy. The pizza I got was $19 and I would pay that again as the quality was worth it. I look forward to trying the other specialty pizzas they have to offer such as the bacon cheeseburger pizza and the twister!
