This restaurant used to be a treat for me. I grind every day to be able to go here every few months. Sun July 6th, 25 was my last time there. We get seated, only get 1 menu, 10 min goes by we get a 2nd menu. 10 min after that our server comes for drinks & takes order (this is the only time we seen him)..order an appetizer & 2 entrees. The entrees come w salads & of course bread for the table. A new waiter comes w the bread, salad, & drinks…and right behind him is yet another waiter w appetizer and entrees. Everything arrived at the same time. Should I explain the dilemma further or do we need a rundown of dinner structure w courses and presentation? Ok good.. The 3rd waiter at this point asks if we need sauce/ketchup, we said yes; both steak sauce and ketchup. Before he leaves my father mentions to the kid that everything came together and it woulda been nice if they came staggered so that each course could have been enjoyed as intended and not raced out. The response to that was: "I can take them in back and just bring them back out"…fearing a retaliation or a cold meal we just said leave it and we’ll make do. In the mean time it’s about 5 min since we asked for sauce/ketchup. Now another lady comes (our 4th server) she provided steak sauce but no ketchup. She said that they were out of ketchup. I ordered a burger and fries if I can’t have ketchup then the meal is incomplete am I right? 10 min goes by; I was eating my appetizer & bread while the burger sat, when the server comes back w a couple ketchup packets. At this point I had it, the issues on the night added up enough to where I said I’m not gonna use some old packets u found in a place where my bills usually 3 digits. Give me the dining experience I’m paying for and not a to go order band aid. The restaurants in between Red Robin and chilis, ur telling me u couldn’t send a kid over to one of those places and bought a bottle of ketchup? I refused to burger, server told me to just keep it cause they’re just gonna throw it away, I refused, she urged again. I said why would I eat something that’s lacking and I can’t enjoy, take it back. Now she says the managers gonna come out and talk to me. It’s protocol but the manager was sarcastic and overbearing while trying to jam home her points instead of apologizing. Long story short she said the bill was on her; I didnt eat my entree, my father left 75% of his, along with half the appetizer. The beetle I accidentally swallowed on the way home left me more full than the longhorn did. I was perfectly willing to let it die and I probably woulda went back down the road… Here’s where the story turns…very close family friends of ours go there every Monday. Unbeknownst to them that we were there 24hrs prior they start making small talk, and the first server we had who only took our order launches into a story about how 2 guys were there the previous night, they complained about the meal how there was no ketchup, got comped a free meal and stiffed him. We did everything right they were jerks bla bla bla… Tuesday we’re having lunch w those friends and they tell us the story how their waiter was treated rudely by 2 guys who couldn’t get ketchup….hahahahahaha So not only did longhorn drop the ball, but they like to tell future customers tall tales of vindication and how they do things by the book and offer superior dining experiences.
My my my fiction can be fun… Longhorn, you guys dropped the ball, wear it! Don’t open ur mouths the next day about how great u did cause you’ll never know who that patron knows and who they talk to. I’ll be discussing this w a district manager, corporate, whoever is gonna listen me. I hope it...
Read moreThis is my first and last time visiting Longhorn. The steak was cooked well and had good flavor. The atmosphere was as sad as it gets. Very low light and smelled pretty bad. The service was terrible. We came AFTER the lunch rush and before the dinner rush. If I was there during peak hours, I would understand. However, they told us the wait to be seated would be 10 minutes. That 19 minutes turned into 40 minutes. Once seated, the food took another hour to come out. We were sitting with 4 kids that were tired and cranky and just wanted food. Nobody cared. Nobody said anything. The only thing that was said was, "It should be out any minute" over and over. I get these chains don't care if anyone is happy or not, this one does not. I don't make scenes or ask to speak with managers. Good restaurant managers should be present and should see a table of 8 people which were 4 kids under 9 sitting for 40+ minutes without food on the table. They also have some parmesan cheese crust that they recommend putting on the steaks...please take this OFF the menu. This ruined a steak completely. I did not order it, but someone I was with did after the waiter's recommendations. From 1st bite, this was the absolute worst thing ever. If you want to include that as a side dish, fine. Don't recommend adding it on top of a steak to someone who may not know how to order a steak. To some, this can be their first steak experience and you will ruin it by putting that on top of a quality-made steak. It looked like someone vomited on the steak. No sorry about the food running late. No let me take a small precent off your bill or give the kids something to do while they wait of a free dessert. Really bad job of keeping customers happy. Again, first and last time to this establishment and I highly advise anyone who is considering going to...
Read moreFirst let me say that I held almost every position in fast food eateries from server at Ruby Tuesday and TGI Friday to Chef at country clubs to 5 star rated resorts. I have been cooking for over 40 years (even though I have been 27 for 10 years now) shhh. 😎. We got in and it was in between the lunch and dinner rush. Everything was clean and tne service was prompt. The server was attentive (at first) and she was doing well. The appetizers came out and were hot enough to we had to let them cool off. We had the white cheddar mushrooms and wings that we specifically asked to be crispy. Almost perfection. I got the bacon cheeseburger with loaded mashed potatoes, my brother got the same and my parents got steak. My parents meal came out as they wanted, mine and my brother's burgers came out...... just regular mashed potatoes. The burger was done well but in my opinion the burger was way too salty. AND the bacon was thick and pretty much raw to the point I had to take it off. Yes I could have sent it back but one thing I learned after working in food eateries is to not send food back. It doesn't happen every time but it does happen. As my father got dessert we asked for the check. He got dessert. We waited for the check. We asked again for the check....... we waited...... we looked for the server and saw she was talking behind the bar with the bartender. We asked again..... she said it was coming right out. We waited. After a few more minutes we said: "if we just leave she will leave the bar and she will be right over." As we were putting on jackets she came over. Overall it was good but she (The server) needs to get the checks out quicker. Being an ex server I know the goal is rotation of customers to keep the...
