Not overly impressed for the first time eating there. Maybe it's because we were there at 8:30 and they close at 9, maybe it's because the people there were having a good time drinking and talking and the kitchen was closing down. The food was good...EXCEPT: I ordered the vegetarian grilled cheese and it had no tomatoes (even though that was part of the description); the coffee was old...like really old, I just told them don't waste time making a new pot for free coffee; the mushrooms used in everything are not REAL MUSHROOMS, they are the pre-cooked canned kind. Anyone who eats out anywhere knows REAL mushrooms make a difference. If you are going to pay $10 for a grilled cheese sandwich I want actual full flavor fungi. The prices are high in my opinion. The sandwich included chips, any other side cost money. My bill was over $11 for a sandwich that was good but not memorable (maybe the coffee wasn't free because the menu said the sandwich was supposed to be $10 so with tax that wouldn't compute). I watched another person I ate with pay over $28 for their meal. Staff was friendly and seemed efficient. Sorry Ruby's, for drinking or music I might come back, but for eating you won't be a go to. I'll come back at a different time at least once, maybe that will be a...
Read moreWe recently lost the matriarch of our family and needed a halfway point to meet, talk and eat. It's been an emotional time for us so instead of a review I wanted to take a moment to thank you. Each of us ordered something different and we spent the meal saying "you've got to try this, it's amazing". Our table quickly turned into a buffet. It was comfort food in a time of crises. The gentlemen there who were probably regulars took the time to visit with my grandchildren and they were actually smiling. The waitress, I'm so sorry I was too upset to remember your name, invited the kids to play pool, which allowed the adults to cover more serious topics of conversation. And no one there knew what we were going through which lets me know your kindness, efficiency, and generosity is real and consistent to every customer. I also wanted to thank the waitress for bringing the orange card out to the parking lot. She was correct, it was important and she didn't have to do that. It would have been easier to just toss it. I grew up in a small town and it's nice to know places like this still exist. I had forgotten just how much I miss them. I may not remember your names but I will not forget your kindness, and again thanks to...
Read moreTerrible steaks. Ordered medium well, got a plate full of blood. Were cooked medium or a little under. They have no steak sauce and steaks weren’t even seasoned. We each took one bite of steak. The lady running it was too busy talking to the obnoxiously loud customers cussing non stop at the bar, to even ask how it was. She saw that we didn’t eat most of it and didn’t even ask if anything was wrong The lady next to us had 2 kids and the loud, cussing, customers and the lady running it talking about all her different baby daddy’s, was probably not what she expected at a place called a “diner” . It should be called a bar. Very disappointed and do not...
