Totally wonderful place. We have been regulars at El Jalapeno II over in Austintown for several years and have always loved it - it's one of the best restaurants in town, Mexican or not. When we heard that they were opening an outpost in Struthers, we were very excited, because that's a little closer to home for us. We finally tried it tonight (they've been open for about a month now), it is was exactly on par with, if not better than, what we were accustomed to at their other locations. Food is amazing while being fairly priced with generous portions. Service is attentive and extremely friendly. Drinks are poured strong! A bonus is that I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my entree to be served after I've ordered, even when they're busy. I have eaten at Jalapenos at least 30 times and I have never had a bad thing to say. Please give a visit to Juan and company at their new location; they are wonderful people who run a fabulous establishment and it would be lovely to see...

We went there this weekend and we knew our bank account was low, so we had cash to pay with. My husband forgot because we were blabbing and he gave the waiter his bank card and told us it was declined. Of course we laughed because we had cash and knew there wasn't enough to cover our meal. So we paid him cash and gave him a cash tip. Needless to say, I was really put out to discover he HAD taken what was left out of our bank account, which was only 17 dollars, but still. That was a rotten thing to do. We won't...
Read moreI really dislike commercialized Mexican food chains..refried beans from a can, chips from a cellophane bag and tasteless salsa with a drop of hot sauce. I have visited Mexico more than 8 times and calling these chains Authentic is like calling Chef Boyardee good Italian.
Tonight, I visited Sr. Jalapenos in Struthers, OH and WOW-- REAL CHARRED BEANS, GREAT SALSA, HOMEMADE CHIPS and I chose the char grilled chicken covered with grilled spinach, tomatoes and onion in a very light crema cheese sauce. PERFECTION. Our server was MIGUEL MATA., personable, efficient and attentive. I will request him again. TRY THIS spotlessly clean-- you can see into the kitchen--...
